August 31, 200817 yr alright this is probably a stupid question but im not sure... i saw justin miller got designated for assignment and then a few days later he got outrighted. can someone please explain what that means??? thanks

September 1, 200817 yr oh man, I completely forgot about outright assignments. I'm unsure if he was outrighted before, but if he hasn't been, that would be the reason he chose to stay with the team instead of FA. The rules for outrighting are the first time, the player doesn't have a choice, he has to report to the minors. Afte the first time, he can choose to not accept the outright and become a FA. So if he was outrighted before, then that means he chose to stick with us. If he hasn't been, then he had no choice.
