i find it funny how people negate bonds just because they don't like him as a person

My bad, forgot Roberto Clemente.

The man will not hit for 3000 hits. He won't finish with a career .300 average. And he is supposed to be the best all time? Please.

Candlestick and Pac Bell have taken at least 25 points off his batting average year after year, as well as robbed him of around 100 homers over the years. He has 8 gold gloves, is the only guy with 400 HRs and 400 SBs, and he has not only that but 500 HRs and 500 SBs.

Nobody could hit, run, catch and throw like Bonds other than Willie.

You overate him SO MUCH it isn't funny anymore.

Pac Bell Park is the toughest park for hitters in baseball. Before Pac Bell was built, Candlestick was.

You are telling a Marlins fan that any place outside of Miami is tougher on hitters?

Son, other parks fight for number 2. Joe Robbie Stadium swallows more homers than Barry swallows steroid pills.

24 foot wall to right all the way to death valley in right center (compared to 8 at JRS), 420 ft. to right center (compared to 380 at JRS), only 6 feet closer at Pac bell at center although the wind blows the ball in.

Shallow down the line, but a real high wall from right field to right center, deep in the power areas, wind blows the ball in.

worse possible scenario for a left handed batter.

434 to Left Center. 410 I believe to Center. The Teal Monster in Left. 365 I believe to Right, maybe deeper. The ball dies because of humidity.

Look up the stats. JRS leads the league in fewest homeruns, fewest runs, and other pitcher friendly categories year after year after year.

Giants home: 82 HRs 1.012/ G, Giants away: 98 HRs 1.225/ G, 19.5% increase on the road

Marlins home: 72 HRs, Marlins away: 85 HRs, 18.1% increase on the road

Giants home: 82 HRs

Marlins home: 72 HRs

I rest my case

  • Author

that's because the Marlins have less power.

Giants away: 98 HRs

Marlins away: 85 HRs

Giants 19.5% increase in homers on the road

Marlins 18.1% increase in homers on the road

OK, if that stat of Marlins having less homers at home meant nothing, how about you look up visiting homers in each stadium huh?

And btw, its still 72 for the Marlins and 82 for the Giants. How you like dem apples?

That's only because the marlins have more power, the Giants have a lot more homers on the road.

Just look at the increases

The increases mean nothing. Its the sole that the Marlins have ten less homers at home that helps the fact that no park loves pitchers more than JRS.

And again, look up visiting homers in each stadium and I think you won't like the results. :cool

And you keep contradicting yourself.

Pac Bell, Comerica, Safeco, Dodger, Shea, and Oakland are all tougher parks for hitters that JRS

  • Author

just find any list that ranks hitters and pitchers parks and pac bell will be ranked ahead of Joe Robbie in all of them

Again, JRS is a clear number one. All other parks fight for second.

Just ask anyone who plays here constantly.
