ALMOST UP TO BAT: Marlins ballpark contracts once expected to come up for county commission votes today (1/22) are to be heard instead 1 p.m. Feb. 13 at a special meeting. "That is the intent right now, unless something changes," Commission Chair Dennis Moss said Tuesday. He continues to stress that commissioners should receive the yet-to-be-seen documents ? several agreements that would cement the long-planned deal for a $515 million, retractable-roof stadium ? at least two weeks in advance of a vote to allow time for review and questions. County Manager George Burgess said the same in a Jan. 14 memo he e-mailed to commissioners Jan. 16. He pledged to provide the proposed agreements "at least two weeks prior" to a meeting. "Once distributed," Mr. Burgess wrote, "we will meet with each commissioner to discuss the documents and the stadium deal, and respond to any questions you might have." (from Miaminews.com)

oh no! :D Friday the 13th!! :p

I'm quite annoyed that they keep changing the date. As long as it gets passed though, I can handle it! =]

If it makes you feel any better the miami city manager is pretty confident the stadium is good to go ;)

I'm sure he is confident of the City of Miami Commission vote. Do you mean he is also confident that it will pass the County's vote?

OH oh here we go again my hopes are getting dimmer and dimmer .Hopefully this wont get delayed anymore......it has been delayed enough.....

Yup.

that is good news I suppose. Hopefully the delay is to finalize things so they can just go when they vote and not because they are unsure.

Miami-Dade County Mayor, Carlos Alvarez, appeared on the TV show This Week in South Florida this morning. He said that the final documents will be delivered to the County Commissioners by Monday ( Jan. 26) They will have ample time to review them for the vote on Feb 13. He remained optimistic of its approval.
