What a beautiful day for a ball game. Tons of fun. But the team looked sloppy, even if most of the starters were just trying out for bench or pen slots. Only two errors was very generous. Along with some very obvious mind farts on the base paths. Not that there weren't a couple highlites. The good thing was that the O's looked worse.

Players and coaches were very friendly and quite willing to come to the wall and chat with us. Got to see some of the guys that I had wanted to check out a bit. It was nice to see the fans move aside for JJ's wife and kid and for Cody's wife and kids so they could chat before the game started. No one that I saw bothered them during that time. It was a bit breezy at first, but a perfect day to catch a game.

Had to check out the web site as soon as we got home. Jeremy was the only obvious missing player there. Everyone else was at least in the dugout. We thought maybe something was going on.

Was that double play Andino got himself into as ridiculous looking as it sounded?

Worse. Base running brain fart. Seems to be becoming an epidemic lately, too. But I have seen worse during the regular season. Like Castillo running back to 2B across the IF and then squatting down like he was hoping no one saw him. In Chicago maybe?? Now that was funny.

On the flip side. Jai Miller looked pretty good out there once he got into the game. Nice routes and made a nice catch. And De Aza was all over the place, backing up the LFer and RFer like he was playing those fields. The guy is really showing he wants to play.
