Posted May 6, 200916 yr On Marlins Live, Tommy joked that the Fish wouldnt mind plugging Jeff Conine into their lineup. That brought up a question in my mind...would they really? What I'm asking is, how good was Jeff Conine really? Not just the Mr. Marlin stuff where we love him for his history with us, but more so in a sense of numbers... If we could have him in the lineup now, hypothetically of course, who would we replace him for, where would he play, and "which" Niner (what year) would be the best to have? Would he really help us or would things be basically the same? I liked Tommy's joke and I wanted to expand on it hypothetically...what do you all think?
May 6, 200916 yr no way he retirer he now having time with family he donot want leave them again and he like parttime job with fsn
May 6, 200916 yr I'll take 1995 Jeff Conine in a heartbeat. .302/.379/.520/.899 134 OPS+ 25 HR, 105 RBI
May 7, 200916 yr I'll take Conine at 1st and Cantu back to third (even with his shaky d over there)....Conine is better than Bonifacio. Joke of course.
