By iBiquity Digital Corporation

MIAMI, BOCA RATON & NAPLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2003--Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: BBGI), a large- and mid-size market radio broadcaster, today announced that five of its six radio stations in southeast Florida are now broadcasting in HD Radio.

The digital broadcasts, powered by iBiquity's HD Radio technology, are now available at WKIS-FM Kiss Country (99.9 mHz), Miami's only country station, and at WQAM-AM Sports Radio (560 kHz), Miami's sports-talk radio station, as well as at WWNN-AM (1470 kHz), WSBR-AM (740 kHz) and WHSR-AM (980 kHz) in Boca Raton. Consumers purchasing receivers equipped with an HD Radio tuner, expected to be commercially available through various manufacturers in 2004, will realize enhanced FM and AM sound fidelity, improved signal reception capabilities and data services such as song and artist information, weather and traffic alerts and much more.

Commenting on Beasley's transition to digital technology, George G. Beasley, Beasley Broadcast Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "When FM radio stations first appeared, the industry and the general public were slow to adopt the new technology. Today, however, FM is clearly the band of choice for high-fidelity broadcasting. As an early adopter of HD Radio technology, Beasley believes that with fidelity and reception improvements, HD is the future of radio, and we eagerly anticipate the dramatic benefits it is expected to bring to our industry."

Robert Struble, president and CEO, iBiquity Digital Corporation stated, "Beasley Broadcast Group is a forward-thinking, technology savvy company executing a plan to bring its radio stations into the digital age. HD Radio technology will provide Beasley's listeners with new and exciting digital services: incredible sound fidelity, crystal clear reception and data services capable of providing basic and advanced information - all of which have become the norm in consumer's lives."

As soon as most of us get new HD Radios, the WQAM signal will be cleaner, but will the programming be?

FM I can understand

AM is lo-fi; talk & sports do not need digital enhancement

WQAM is doing it to better signal reach and quality.
