Don't ask me where it's from.

Marlins interested in Penny

Brad Penny | Red Sox

According to the Miami Herald, the Marlins like Brad Penny, who reportedly might be traded by the Red Sox, but likely would pursue the right-hander only if Boston paid much of his $5 million-plus salary.

It is believed that Penny could be expendable because of Boston's surplus of starting pitching and the desire by the Red Sox to add another bat to their lineup.

Who would we have to give up?

Who would we have to give up?

Probably more than we really can afford to give up. I guess we could ship a prospect but I sure as heck don't want to see us give away part of our future just to try and prop up this crappy team that isn't going anywhere.

If we were going to make a move for a guy like Penny, I reckon the time for it would have been a couple of weeks ago. Now Miller is back healthy and the latest reports are that Anibal could be back in 2 weeks, so the question is why we would now try and acquire a veteran SP when our top 5 rotation guys are all playing?
