June 17, 200917 yr I was just pondering about fielding and i would like to know what is the best or what are the best ways to rate a players fielding abilities. A Player that comes to mind is Josh Hamilton Outfielder for the Texas Rangers. Could anybody help me with this and have the time to explain to me? Help would be greatly appreciated.
June 17, 200917 yr Well, for stats I'm pretty sure UZR and +/- is the best. But if you want in a scouts way without using stats, I would say range, Arm strength, speed, and awareness.

June 20, 200917 yr According to UZR/150 he's 22nd out of 29 LF with 250+ innings. Pretty bad but has improved.
