July 18, 200917 yr So, I was reading posts about Bonifacio, and started thinking about his speed. This made me think of how the FO is trying to get back to that mold of speed and defense, which made me think of Juan Pierre. Now, thinking about Juan Pierre, I'm curious. As a player, would it be worse to give up a homerun to Juan Pierre, or get thrown out by his noodle arm? I know this isn't relevant to this year's Marlin's team, but I'm still curious what you guys think.
July 18, 200917 yr Pierre can actually loft a homer out every now and then, he just knows that hitting the ball in the air isn't his style so he makes a conscious effort to not do it. The assists, on the other hand, getting thrown out by him would be utterly ridiculous. The only way to get thrown out by him is to be doing things you absolutely should not be doing or to fall asleep on the basepaths.
