Something is up with the AIM feature. The link to send IMs is missing, and when you click on someone's profile their AOL/AIM s/n is masked (it is just a space). Any idea what is causing this?

I removed them temporarily because they were being abused. Certain people were harassing people on AIM after finding screen names on here. They were also impersonating members of this site.

 

The information is still stored in the DB for future use.

I had an experience with this, but I am not one to complain anyways.

It's for the safety of the users. You can always PM someone and ask for their AIM names if you need it. If they want you to have it, they'll give it to you.

yeah.. and if you really want EVERYONE to have access to your AIM username, you can always just mention it in your profile

We've all done the AIM chat before. So you either know the SN of the person(s) that you want to talk with and if you don't then just PM them.

 

 

 

Unfortunately because of a few A-holes that some sacrifices have to be made, but its something we can all overcome. :thumbup

Ya that happened to me the other day. Some a**hole instant messaged me saying he was sum1 from the boards and talking s***.
