So Third Base is a Problem - So What?

Name a better one.

And not, "I am afraid of running into the fence" Heyward.

Off the top of my head, Justin Upton, Andres Torres, and Jay Bruce are all head and shoulders better. Heyward is probably better as well.

He's pretty good, and he really came on toward the end of the year, but it's hyperbole to say he's the best in the League.

Among RFers who played at least 700 Innings, he ranked 5th in the MLB in UZR/150. So he's pretty good.

But it's also one year, and he wasn't really talked about as a super plus plus defender coming up, so it's hard to say.

Anywhere to see that for free? Where do those 4 I listed rank?

I still want Michael Young ... go spend some money, plug him at 3rd and batting 5th and we automatically become significantly better.

You all can come up with stats of all sorts that I really dont care about. This team will be better with a real 3rd baseman that can / will / has always hit.

Bruce led all RFers, the others were all top 10, I believe.

Andres Torres was a scrub before last year ... Justin Upton has never been able to put it together and Jay Bruce hasn't done it for more than one year.

Mike Stanton has only had one half season. So those criticisms of those guys don't mean anything.

And he was talking about defense.

So good job.
