  1. This guy is a good manager. I like him a lot. Good managers don't air their conversations with players to the press
  2. I was so excited I stayed up all night working out possible trades for Nunez.
  3. 1 side note, am i the only one that feels that ryan webb is pitching or warming up in about every single game thus far? He was a full time starter until 2009. He'll be fine. Another candidate to replace Vostad in the rotation.
  4. OK, need nine runs tonight
  5. OK Hanley leading off Cogs in the three hole
  6. Trade Leo for Stans Dodger GMs are famously stupid
  7. Edwin still intent on wearing John Buck out. He can suck it up....he has sleep at night to rest or rest on plane ride. But yea, this is starting to get like last year. Give Hayes 2 starts for every 10 games. Buck has never caught more than 118 games a year.
  8. Cogs hitting over 350 and all his HRs against rhp Not so good against lefties this year. .154
  9. Edwin still intent on wearing John Buck out.
  10. Donnie better start hitting or he may be back in AAA
  11. He stands too far from the plate and then has to move his lower body to get into hitting position.
  12. We don't need anymore damn closers. We have a bullpen full of future closer types. Find a team that needs one and make a deal for a bat. Whom do you expect in return for Nunez?
  13. Yeah, late inning bullpen guys are easy to find. Which is why the Yankees, the Red Sox, the White Sox, Arizona, the Angels, and Toronto all had to pay $3.5 plus a year for free agent relief pitchers in the off season. Ok. Because our payroll is totally comparable to the likes of the Yankees, Red Sox, and White Sox, and Angels, right? Your Arizona/Toronto examples are horrible, btw. Arizona paid ONE reliever (Putz) who's actually better than Leo and has proven throughout the course of his career that he's elite when healthy. Toronto gave all of their relievers one-year contracts with the idea of trading them in July (as rentals) for prospects to continue their rebuild. Late inning guys of moderate reliability are hard to find and expensive. Which is why Nunez is NOT easily replaceable. Whom do you expect in return for Nunez?

  15. Tommy Hutton suggested that teams in the 1 game playoff are forced to use their best starter. How do you define who is the best starter? Unless the best starter pitched in the past three days.
