StantonisKing
Sports can be really cruel. Take a look at the schedule for the University of New Mexico football team this season. It would be rough for an upper tier program but for a program with just two wins since 2009 it's brutal. Colorado State(3-9) @ Arkansas(10-3) Texas Tech(8-5) Sam Houston State(6-5) New Mexico State(2-10) @ Nevada(13-1) @ TCU(13-0) Air Force(9-4) @ San Diego State(9-4) UNLV(2-11) @ Wyoming(3-9) @ Boise State(12-1)
Maxx
I'm so glad FIU has gone away from the body bag games. I love the chance to upset the big team but some of them were impossible and usually it was 4 straight games to start the season.
Rabbethan
Well, this is how you become a player. I think those "body bag" games had a lot to do with FIU's rise to conference and bowl game champions. It got our name out there as a team that plays people who matter.
bobbob1313
The money is more important. FIU Athletics would not have been able to make their budgets if not for the bodybag games. (And even the year they played UF and Alabama, they ended up having to cut $1 million from their budget.)
