February 12, 201313 yr 4/48. vesting $12m option for a 5th year. that team looks pretty solid, top to bottom, now. I'm sure they'll trade Brantley or Stubbs for an arm or two. Brantley would be a nice fit for the Marlins. just sayin.
February 12, 201313 yr If I remember correctly, weren't the Indian's looking to be a sign and trade faciliatator with the Draft pick free agents? I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded in the next day or so-- possibly to the mets. They signed one FA with DP compensation earlier in the year, and now to get Bourn they only had to give up a second pick IIRC. Thats why they were okay with being a Sign and Trade team for Bourn, Laroche, Loshe, and others.

That team's outfield was downright awful last year, probably among the worst in the league with a -24 RAA between their three starters. Bourn was a +38 last year. And they got Swisher, who was also a plus fielder. With those two guys, they completely solved that problem. They're not going to trade him. One of Stubbs or Brantley will almost surely be gone, though. If I had to guess between the two, I'd say Stubbs who has no real place on that team with the Bourn signing outside of a pinch runner (which is all he really should be anyways seeing as how he isn't good at hitting or fielding).
