Hello, I hope this is the correct place to ask a question about Marlins tickets. I am a huge Reds fan and will be visiting prior to a cruise on May 26. My family of 4 would like to take in a Marlins game at the new stadium. However, I'm not having much luck finding decent priced tickets. With the upper deck closed, it appears that the tickets start at $12 in the home run porch. I don't mind sitting in the upper deck for the price but have never been a fan of the outfield view. Any suggestion for discounts or better pricing? I'm not seeing much on Stub Hub/SeatGeek either. It appears the Marlins don't do much in the way of promotions from their ticket office.

I always suggest scalping tickets. Don't pay more than $5 per ticket. The seats will be down the 3rd base line between the lf wall and 3b. The assigned seats won't be bad, but since the games are empty, just move around. Pick an aisle without an usher or one that doesn't care (only a couple do right behind home plate). It's very simple at marlins park.

 

I know first time visiting going this route will seem iffy. Don't be worried. It's ez. The scalpers are walking around in front of the park (west side) and are either black or dark hispanic. They will scream or ask people "tickets?" They will speak english or enough to sell a ticket. They will want $20. Say no and offer $5. They will say no. Tell them forget it and start to walk away. He will either come back and bring the price down or agree to $5. Either way, don't pay more than $5. Even if they let you walk, do the same to another scalper. You have all the leverage as they need to sell the tickets that day. I've had them for as little as $3 a pop. Scalpers get their tickets for a dollar each so you know their costs. Just check the dates and rows/seats to make sure its for that day.

I'm fairly experienced buying from scalpers so that sounds like a plan. The price range info and locations are very much appreciated. My Reds haven't been very good recently, so usually the team offers $5 tickets the week ahead of time in the worst seating areas and then tries to upgrade them through the Ballpark app. It's actually cheaper than the scalpers in Cincinnati to just go through the team. I'm surprised the Marlins don't do something similar. But, prior to that, I bought off scalpers often. $5 for lower level baseline is very good. We will have a rental car, so any parking info would be great. Thanks so much for the help.

You have 3 parking options.

 

Free

 

You can street park in a neighborhood just west of the ballpark. It's not a terrible neighborhood, but it isn't good either. I've parked there plenty of times with no issues. Just park and walk over. If you go on google maps aerial view, you can see the street parking.

 

Cheap

 

You'll see a bunch of people holding signs for parking 15, 10, 5 bucks. It's safer than street parking but distance wise you aren't saving much. It will seem a little strange but these people actually need this income and watch your car.

Parking garage. They suck, tbh. Take a while to get out of and expensive, but safe and right there. IMO, unless you get free garage parking, it's not worth it.

The only way you'll get a $5 scalped ticket will be if you wait until about 3 minutes before first pitch.  Buy Home Run Porch tickets well in advance (then move around like squall outlined), get to the gate 90 minutes before first pitch and you'll be able to catch some Reds batting practice.

We're going to be late anyway to the game on the 26th. Flight arrives at FLL at 6:40 and the game is at 7:10. I figure we might get a good deal from scalpers since the game will be started and if not just grab some $12 seats and not have to pay the fees from buying online. I'll definitely move if in the Home Run Porch section. As an outsider looking in, I can't see how the Home Run Porch is a better seat than the upper deck behind home plate which is closed. Unfortunately they're not playing the Reds but the LA Angels
