Having a horrific year coming back from a major injury but is a top walk guy and could have been a steal. Dodgers signed him to an extension. Would have been nice to get him and a SS in free agency. Oh well, on to plan B.

Oh well, on to plan B. To quib, if the Marlins signed Muncy, he'd probably be a Cooper upgrade at 1B. You imagine that the 2B/SS/3B situation next year is: Jazz, Berti ____, Wendle/Rojas Anderson/Wendle, Williams (With Berti/Williams/Soler being the 4-5-6th OF as those first 2 are pretty versatile and Soler can play out there against some righties here and there, or Anderson also if he is a keep). They are pretty set at 3B as-is, as well as Groshans is potentially an add mid-June after the super2 service clock ticks over. He has been good in AAA (despite BABIP inflation) since they got him. Likewise, they are working Berry there so who knows. I'm with you on the SS. It's not as big of a need as CF, but those are the two positions they must upgrade IMO. I think 3B is covered internally. Just to throw a name out, I think A. Rosario (CLE) is a good trade target for SS. 1 year of control left so might not cost a lot, and could maybe be extended pretty easily with a Garcia type deal. He's pretty solid with the contact rates, acceptable defense, and is turning 27. Cleveland has good 2B/SS depth so he isn't needed if the Marlins can help them in the OF (Anderson is a good for them, and maybe they'd buy-low on Sanchez) and/or get them some younger MiLB arms (add Fulton, etc.). This seems more of their wave length. But we can hope Bruce opts for plan-A and just signs Correa.
