The Marlins are all over the board as to who is going to take the center fielder job. Any combo of Derek Hill, Kyle Stowers, Dane Myers, and dark horse Javier Sanoja could see reps in center. Jesus Sanchez was experimenting at center field in spring training but his injury will keep him on the shelf for some time. All of these guys are likely placeholders until one of a number of fringe prospects emerge. Stowers has the most upside, but his struggles at the plate may outweigh that.

The top half of the minors has Victor Mesa, Jakob Marsee, and Andrew Pintar as the most likely prospects to make the leap but all of them have some flaws in their game. Shane Sasaki is a real dark horse if he can stay healthy. Trimble and Jenkins-Cowart were college draft picks and Emaarion Boyd was a throw-in for the Luzardo/Caba trade. The real gems are in the low minors where Andres Valor and Luis Cova are prime prospects and Jancory Delacruz and Janero Miller have a lot of raw tools.
