Amtrak's Cross Florida Service Sked

Featured Replies

Amtrak is a feasable alternative to driving long distances from Northern and Central Florida to Miami to see, oh, a Marlins game.

Here is the Florida Rail Pass Info: http://www.amtrak.com/savings/south/promo-frp.html

Here is the train station list, info, and sked: http://www.amtrak.com/trains/silverservice.html

PLEASE CALL 1-800-USA-RAIL TO CHECK ON ALL INFORMATION AND TIMES. ALSO CALL AND ASK IF IT IS REASONABLE TO SERVICE YOUR NEEDS!

THANK YOU!

Closest stations to PPS are Hollywood and Miami, so have a ride to pick you up or prepare for mass transit.

I wish people used trains here in the states like they use them in Europe. I have used the train - from Miami to Tallahassee - it is a lot of fun. Maybe I will...but school gets in the way...

Unfortunately, no train goes from Tally to Miami directly anymore since the Sunset Limited was scaled back to end in Orlando. Nice thing is you can transfer to the Silver Service at Orlando or Jacksonville to head south to Miami, so you aren't completely out of luck.

You must take Amtrak to Miami Station, transfer to MetroBus Route 42 and take that Route 42 until it meets with Route 27, transfer to Route 27 which will head towards the stadium and leave you right outside of the parking lots. Ask the bus driver for assistance and for transfer info before you board any bus!

You can also take a taxi from Hollywood or Miami Stations to PPS, but it will cost more money than many deem reasonable. Most people who use Amtrak have someone pick them up. It is easier than driving if you have family where you are going to pick you up.

someone who does this will prob have to stay overnight, but if u live in central or north fla, its prob worth it

something ive always considered is taking metrorail to mlk jr station and riding the 27 bus to PPS

Tri-Rail users can transer to Metro, ride to MLK and use 27.

Tri-Rail and Amtrak share the Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Palm Beach, and Miami stations I believe.

tri rail, metrorail, amtrak connect near the tri-rail transfer metrorail station

tri-rail and metrorail meet at the tri-rail transfer station

amtrak is a short walk away (about 3/4 mile)
