Do we have anyone that knows how to hit well besides Yelich?

Esch isn't good. Neither is Urena or Nicolino. Time to use Jarlin Garcia and Dillon Peters midway through the season.

Koehler believes in starting rotation despite not having Fernandez
I will always love Koehler. Gives his all. Not a fan of the rest of the rotation.

Marlins monitoring FA market for pitchers
I'm pretty sure Rotoworld reported Fister wanted $6-8 mil per year. Maybe his asking price has come down but there is a reason he's a free agent.

Anyone wanna split a calzone with me?
Cervenka will take half. I call him pant load.

Ellis scratched with tight hamstring
Too old. Not as athletic as Mathis. Ellis is like a less athletic Mike Redmond

Who is this Anderson guy pitching? This Blake Anderson the converted catcher?

Based on him having one foot out of the organization. Only way I see him spending money is at the deadline for one last run if we have a competitive record

PRE-SEASON PREDICTIONS / RANKINGS FROM ELSEWHERE [MEGATHREAD]
Braves have a decent lineup for a last place team. Their pitching is awful.

We don't have an ace. Our best starter is probably Conley but he won't be #1 most likely on IP count this year. Volquez should get opening day start; he's pitched in many big games.

Anderson needs to move to first base, clearly.

I know you're joking but I like Wittgren. Guy has no out pitch but with Ramos and Barraclough walking everyone, Witt had a 1.74 BB/9 last year and 1.53 BB/9 in minors. He's walked two today though. If he has no control, he's useless because he's very hit-able

It's safe to say our 3 worst players on our supposed 25 man roster are Jeff Locke, Urena, and McGowan. If any of those 3 were replaced by Wittgren, Lazo, Cervenka. Ellington, Steckenrider, Nicolino, Peters or Jarlin Garcia there is really zero drop off and maybe an upgrade.

Marlins monitoring FA market for pitchers
Locke was a terrible signing for $3 million. Pitt fans were laughing at us. Mike Hill could have gotten him for $1 mil or a minor league deal. Two guys to keep an eye on that I would love to sign for minor league deals ONLY are Justin Masterson and Tim Lincecum. Both have prior success and our ballpark/defense could help both pitchers. Lincecum may be done but for a minor league deal or replacing Locke for 1 year, $1 mil I would easily take it.

Peavy may not sign until June. He's going through a divorce for cheating on his wife and he feels like he can't leave his children right now. He won't sign in Miami. His children are on west coast.

He's asking for way too much money for a guy throwing 87 mph

Fowler running wild and manufacturing a run. 1-0 cards Marlins bases loaded and 0 outs and get 1 run. 1-1 matt carpenter 2 run homer off regression candidate McGowan 3-1 cards yelich 2 run homer 3-3 bour homer 4-3 marlins thats it.

To reach Marlins, pitcher crossed water and jungle
"He’s interesting,” said Michael Hill, president of baseball operations. How does this idiot have a job?

FSFlorida to televise 7 ST games
So what's the deal with Preston? I know he's not doing regular season games but is he still apart of the Marlins broadcasts? In studio? Also is Conine and Pavano still around? I think Pavano is gone along with Eduardo thank God.

Don tries out for bench spot
Doubtful. Butler can still rake; only 30 years old and hit .284
