  1. I agree with that. Maybe 1 month. ONE OF Locke, McGowan, or Urena will be AWFUL.
  2. More than anything; a move like this shows that Loria is trying to make another run in the next 1-2 years before selling. I think he's really getting out of it after the All Star break
  3. It will play itself out but McGowan, Locke, and Urena are 3 pitchers that could ALL suck at any given time or have a terrible year.
  4. They will go with 13 pitchers and keep both. 25 MAN ROSTER 1. Conley 2. Straily 3. Chen 4. Volquez 5. Koehler 6. Urena 7. Locke 8. Tazawa 9. Phelps 10. McGowan 11. Ziegler 12. Barraclough 13. Ramos 14. Realmuto 15. AJ Ellis 16. Bour 17. Gordon 18. Dietrich 19. Hechavarria 20. Rojas 21. Prado 22. Yelich 23. Stanton 24. Ozuna 25. Ichiro It's looking like Realmuto will be the playing 1st a lot vs. lefties. Also gives Dietrich/Rojas more ABs in OF/around the diamond.
  5. Ellington will 100% start in AAA with Wittgren. They have options. Last spot is either Locke or Urena (out of options). Most likely Urena.
  6. Loria is so ready to sell after this season. Jose broke his heart.
  7. Looks like Telis is going to break camp. Marlins will use Bour, Telis, JT, and maybe Rojas at first.
  8. That Indians lineup is nasty. Zero holes. Kipnis, Carlos Santana, Jose Ramirez, Michael Brantley, Encarnacion, Naquin, Lindor Add in Carrasco and Salazar and I would take that team over the Cubs anyday
  9. Eduardo and Preston were so terrible. Hollandsworth has been ok on MLB TV. Sad to see Conine go if he's done
  10. Gomes is a good clubhouse guy but I would target Dae Ho-Lee. The guy is an RBI machine; had 49 RBI in 249 AB last year.
  11. Unfortunately, Urena is out of options and will most likely be the #7 bullpen pitcher on roster to start the season
  12. Good to hear. I wish they would grab one of Fister/Nova/Hammel
  13. Ramos, Barraclough, Ziegler, Tazawa, McGowan, Phelps and Jose Urena break camp Unfortunately, if Urena isn't traded, he will break camp with Fish like Brad Hand did because he has zero options left. Leaves Cervenka (3 options), Wittgren (2 options), Ellington (2 options), Steckenrider, Lazo, Brice in AAA
  14. Would Ozuna and Ramos be enough to get Archer and would Tampa even want to do that? We backfill Ozuna with a free agent/Dietrich Hypothetically if we DID trade both Ozuna and Ramos for Archer, are we a better team or worse?
  15. Building depth at least. We have Destin Hood, Barnes, Matt Den dekker and Issac Galloway in AAA along with Yefri Perez
  16. Outfielder Brandon Barnes is headed to the Marlins on a minors pact, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation tweets. The deal includes a Spring Training invite. Barnes, 30, figures to function as a depth piece after seeing time in the majors over parts of the last five seasons. He struggled to a .220/.250/.320 batting line in just 109 MLB plate appearances last year. Brandon Barnes looks to fill the Cole Gillespie role from last year. Barnes should be in AAA with Destin Hood.
  17. I smell a Mike Hill AJ Ramos for Clay Buchholtz swap coming
  18. It seems like they would deal Ramos for a young SP but trading Ramos would REALLY tick off Giancarlo.
  19. I think Loria is 100% selling the Marlins after this year, after the all star game is held in Miami.
  20. Twins are about to sell off Dozier and Rotoworld mentioned.... Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that some teams have asked the Twins about Ervin Santana. The rebuilding Twins are willing to trade him for the right return, not surprisingly. It's unclear which teams have asked about Santana, but he would make sense for a host of clubs looking for a veteran innings-eater. The right posted a 3.30 ERA over 30 starts in 2016 and is owed a reasonable $27 million through 2018 with a $14 million option for 2019 (or $1 million buyout). Santana is a guy the Marlins have liked for long time. $28 mil for 2 years isn't bad. He's (133-116) in career with a 4.10 era and 3.30 era last year. I would take him because he's reliable. It's doubtful the Marlins have anything to give them; maybe Dietrich to fill Dozier's spot?
  21. I like Ellington but Donnie hates pitchers who can't throw strikes. Can't say I blame him
  22. Gotta have at least 1 lefty in the pen. Raudel Lazo was dominant in Winter Ball. He's got a shot unless Cervenka is out of options.
  23. Yup. Need a loogy; hopefully Lazo over Cervenka and also Nick Wittgren who's great because he can go multiple innings and never walks anyone.
  24. Terrible Mike Hill recent track record in trading pitchers away...... 1) Sam Dyson 2) Grant Dayton 3) Carter Capps 4) Anthony Descalfini 5) Brad Hand- cut (although he had chances) How does this clown Hill still have a job?
  25. Don't forget giving away Sam Dyson and Grant Dayton for NOTHING. I mean Dayton may turn into a top 5 lefty in the league. You see his stats in minors and majors last year? Disgusting. Mike Hill (Ivy league) is like my doctor brother who was first in his class. Book smart; 4.0 GPA but can't balance a checkbook.
