Because signing a player like Mark Reynolds shouldn't raise or lower a grade that much. We already have a good idea of what their offseason plan was/is. There are no major moves left.

Also, schools do give midterm "interim progress report" grades so it is possible to give a halfway grade that is subject to change on the later final grade. So we could give them a current grade and then kinda say the grade would/could go up or down if so and so happens.

If we were to grade them based on past Marlins offseasons being taken into consideration. I'd have to say C because at least we haven't gotten worse. I still remember the offseasons leading into 1998, 2006, 2013. Especially 1998. Brutal. 

 

 

Honestly I grade this offseason a D+. No addition was made without subtraction, and the rotation hasn't gotten any better, We will have a worst record this year than last, and that will make this a bad if not terrible offseason.

 

 

I've like every signing actually and we kept our picks so I'm happy. We're not a contender or anything but I didn't expect to become one this offseason. We're a worse team though considering Jose isn't here. C+/B-
