  1. I'm impressed you took the hyperbole as silly, which it is. But the realistic card won't work because they didn't even offer Soler the qualifying offer cuz it was too much money for them. The silly is thinking they are trying to improve the team and not being cheap... So what makes you think they will do anything to improve the team if they won't even offer Soler the qualifying offer? Or sign anyone... I can't believe your a Marlins fan and don't recognize this pattern, it's been done about 8 times in the franchise history, even 4 or 5 years or so they start a new one. I know it might be painful to admit cuz we just made the playoffs for the 1st time in a while, but they are rebuilding and don't want to have the payroll they had this past year. They obviously won't trade the few stars this year, but they will be moved within a few years and so will Skip. It's the same pattern. It's a rebuild with Bendix.
  2. At least now Dodgers fans will stop talking about Betts being the MVP
  3. Almost cost as much as the Marlins stadium. If taxpayer money was going to pay for the stadium I would have rather signed Ohtani with the tax money and play in the old stadium tbh.
  4. You say I make assumptions and then make this assumption as if Bendix is the reason the Rays are good. That's like saying Mike Trout and Ohtani are the reasons the Angels are bad.
  5. True but they aren't on the dollar menu.
  6. I heard the Marlins had a recruiting dinner with Ohtani with Bruce and Bendix at McDonald's. They bought 2 items on the dollar menu and a cup of water for him.
  7. im not against bendix i have said that many times. i was upset with the losing of kim but i wasnt upset at bendix hiring. i was suspicious of the motives of it. its clear kim was making moves that were too expensive for bruce. i think bendix is a great hire but lets not act like he was hired to improve the team, hes here to run a cheap team and hope to have a winner. the 'sustainable' bull is the same thing Jeter said when he got here in the press conference, it was the same word. That means being cheap and rebuilding. Time will tell but for now the most move we got is opting in to the Berti year and resigning Smeltzer and some other castaway pitchers and Wendle replacement.
  8. love this post ur one of the few i see that doesnt blindly accept and have faith in this owner and the decisions.
  9. Hey great idea, why not just grab any lefty that ever pitched in the bullpen and make them a starter it worked last year....
  10. This is ridiculous, starting pitching is not a strength anymore if we are going to convert Puk to a starter
  11. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/12/marlins-listening-on-starters-a-j-puk-to-be-stretched-out-in-spring.html Marlins listening to trade offers for their starting pitchers and going to stretch Puk out to possibly replace that starter in the rotation. It's official I think we are tanking and rebuilding or as the Bruce shills say "retooling".
  12. because you can't blow the game in the 1st inning
  13. He threw a minor leauge no hitter so he earned a minor leauge contract
  14. At this point I would just experiment with Xavier Edwards or Dane Meyers at shortstop. Let them compete for it in spring training. I also wouldn't be opposed to make both of them in the infield somewhere and move players around with Bell as DH and either Arraez or Burger at 1B. Don't know what it is about Skip and not wanting to play Edwards. These new budget infielders they got/looking to get aren't any better than the budget infielders we already have.
