  1. Some of you guys are putting too much emphasis on the fact that Ordonez is a right-handed bat meaning he won't hit right-handed pitching as well which is completely wrong. Career against RHP: .310 / 50 HR / 160 RBI (803 AB) Career against LHP: .306 / 137 HR / 543 RBI (3004 AB) In actuality, Ordonez hits better against righties but he is a huge risk and I hope that Boras is not demanding outrageous amounts of money for him. To be honest, he did the right thing for Ordonez by waiting for all other marquee power free agents to be off the market until he made his move. Teams will be in desperation by then so you might see some team foolish enough to pay him $10+ million for a few years when they only wanted to hand out a one-year/ $8 million deal. You guys do know you are not getting Delgado, right?
  2. I understand the enthusiasm you Marlins fans have with Cabrera but to say he is a better player than Beltran because he hit 30 homeruns in a season quicker than Beltran and because he costs less is just ridiculous. Even in a season in which Cabrera hit 33 homeruns and drove in 112 runs, he created 30 less runs than Beltran did. Beltran: 127 Cabrera: 97 Plus, Cabrera struck out 50% more than Beltran did while walking 1/3 less than him. Add in the defensive game of Beltran and the fact that he has stolen 192 bases compared to Cabrera's 7 and you give yourself no doubt that Beltran is clearly the better player. I like Cabrera but I see him more as a Andruw Jones type player without the gold-gloved defense. Great power, good average and lots of strikeouts.
