Now that the trading deadline is over, we can all go back to focusing on our respective teams. I'd love for the Red Sox to have pried AJB away from the Marlins but, truthfully your team did the right thing in keeping him. As you know, we had our own drama over the past few days and in the end, the front ooffice decided to keep Manny on the team. Time will tell whether that was the right decision. I've spent so much time reading the posts on this board, desperately trying to find the latest info on the Burnett-to-Sox rumors that I feel I know the Marlins team almost as well as I know the Sox No matter how this turns out, I will be keeping an eye on our newest and bestest buddies in the South. No I moved here in December 1992 and adopted the Marlins as my new team, attending opening day in 1993, and been a season ticket holder for years. 866302[/snapback] I have to say that I like your team. You've got as good a stable of young pitchers as any MLB franchise. If the FO plays this right, they should end up with a good package for Burnett. They may have to forget trying to force Lowell down other teams throats to get it done. Although, there was a rumor earlier today that the Red Sox were close to a deal in which they send Mueller to the Twins for JC Romero. If they did that deal the prospect of taking Lowell and part of his salary may seem much more palatable to the Sox.

And to answer your question, with 28 other trading partners out there, there's always someone to do business with. Relationships are built, trust is earned. Perhaps it will come to pass that little Theo finds a way atone for his past sins, and John Henry and Jeffrey Loria patch up their differences, but until then, it is what is. It may be that they can patch things up. But my guess, in order to do so, the Red Sox will probably have to assign someone else to negotiate rather than little Theo. So let me get this straight, we should change ownership, fire our GM and anyone else who won't do business with little Theo? There are lots of teams in MLB who have less than working relationships with other franchises, and GMs from various clubs who have lost respect for their counterparts on other teams, but because we don't want to do business with little Theo, we're the ones at fault?
