I do have a question actually... What was the transition like for you, and do you take the trade personal? Remember that you can be absolutely honest on this message board. It's a safe haven for you, bud! i didn't take this trade as personal as i did the previous one to the marlins organization when i thought the cubs just didn't want me. although it did come as a shock to me, it didn't hit me as hard as before. once again i had to make new friends and get accustomed to the new organization (rules, signs, getting to know the staff, etc.), but that was easy. baseball is baseball no matter where you go. Good to hear from ya Jorg. Sounds like things are going well in Louisville How's your season coming along? Are you playing well? i would like to think i'm at the top of my game right now. defense is very strong and hitting is more comfortable to me this year. my main goal this year is to keep my BB / K ratio very close, if not a very low amount of K's, and of course have a decent average.

who miss me ?? haha. j/k. figured i'd post this in this forum since it's frequented the most. i'm out in virginia beach, VA hangin out with my boy (my old college roomie) from the other team. we had an off day today so instead of traveling back with my team to louisville, i stayed in town a few extra nights to visit and have fun here. i've been enjoying my new team and friends here this season. we've been turning things around since we started out with a losing record and have been playing "lights-out" baseball. the IL is a much better league than the PCL i think - at least the travel is a lot easier. my town of louisville is great. we get about the same - if not bigger - crowd than that of albuquerque. i still talk to some of the guys from the team. usually it's aguila or treaner, and then of course some of the fellas down in the "kirk". called "moose" (fulchino) today since i saw he got the promotion, and was glad to see treanor finally got one out of the yard - was actually watching that game on tv too. anyways, i'm still around if anyone's got some questions. i'll be more than glad to answer them when i can. holla !!

Sorry to hear that. Are you now out of options? Or can they send you down next year as well? i don't have any options this year since i'm not on the roster. but i did use one option last year when they sent me down, so i have 2 left once i make it back on that roster

just thought since all these other posts were going up about people getting sent down, i didn't want to feel left out. mark little also

i didn't realize how long overdue i was in writing an entry. these last few days have been sort of a weird schedule. an off day on monday was too boring. it's weird having an off day when you've adjusted your schedule. i still wake up at 7 am no matter what time we have to be at the park. that's why these night games have been kind of weird also. wake up at 7, and sit around until 2 until it's time to head to the park. plus i'm usually in bed by the time the night games end (10 / 10:30). our trip to vero was succesful as everyone saw. d-train threw exceptionally well. cruz jr. was able to get ahold of a low fastball or slider that he yanked out to left center. other than that he kept the ball down in the zone, pounded the fastball inside which is a necessity. you start leavin the ball over the plate and letting hitters get their arms extended and bad things will happen - as you saw with lowe pitching. our lineup tore him up when he left the ball out over the plate, but when he was able to keep his sinker and slider down in the zone, he was effective. it's a race down to the last week for the final spots on the roster. definitely not an easy decision for joe on who to keep in some spots. i'm gonna shower up and head to the field. we're goin down to ft. lauderdale today. holly what do you mean i'm never around for pictures. i'm always there, you just don't love me anymore :boo-woo

Good to hear from you again Jorg, am looking forward to the game today, first televised game of the year. Pretty dull question, but how do you find the day to day grind of catching, do you feel the wear and tear a lot, and does it tire you down the stretch? Cheers. of course you feel the wear and tear, especially if you're an everyday catcher. i'm not sure how the posada's and schneider's manager to do it and still put up great numbers at the plate. it'll really start to wear you out once the summer heat really kicks in Jorg, You mentioned pay day is Friday. I suppose that is every Friday? Is there a change in pay for guys who are sent down? Just curious. yup during spring training every friday is payday. and yes, there's a change. Serious question--Inevitably, baseball ends for the majority of players (those who don't go on to coach, broadcast, etc). What is next for Ryan Jorgensen? Or is it too early to even know? too early to think about really. I have two questions for you... What do you enjoy most about being a baseball player? Do people often recognize you when you go out? Like... Oh that is Ryan Jorgensen. 1. it's fun. get paid to play a game you played when you were a child. always a change in the game. yeah it's groundhog day during the season (same routine daily), but it's never the same game twice. 2. not yet they don't but they soon will. watch out !! Jorg Do chicks really dig the long ball? you bet they do Jorg, Do players in the minor league camp have a separate clubhouse? Or is everyone mixed together? they are in the same building, but they aren't in the same clubhouse. there is a separate one for that. when you get moved down of course you switch locker rooms. the jupiter hammerheads also use the big league locker room (has about 70 lockers, even though they use 25 / 30, so they'll be spread out) during the season and the gulf coast / rehab uses the other locker room.

been a few days. hope everyone hasn't missed me too much. i actually just woke up and am about to head to the field here shortly. even though we have a later arrival time (10:15 as opposed to the ususal 9:30) i'm still going to go in and get a warm-up workout in. plus i get bored being around the house sometimes. long trip over to the west coast yesterday, but at least we came from behind with a tie. JJ looked strong at first, but began to tire later. as the numbers showed, he started leaving the ball up and got hit around a little bit. of course had there not been one error in the 2nd, hopefully only one of those runs would have scored. he left the ball up to youkilis and he smashed it into the monster behind the centerfield wall for a 3 run dinger. stokes was back in the lineup as DH after resting his groin for a few days. my roomie (aguila) went deep. i missed it though because i was down in the bullpen warming up herges. wish i could have seen it because he was hitting some massive bombs during batting practice. after a somewhat slow and frustrating start for him, his bat is starting to come around. tank looked impressive on the mound. i'm sure he was pretty stoked that he struck out manny ramirez too. i know i would be. big game against the yankees today at the park. definitely going to be a sellout crowd. hope everyone had a good st. patties day. i know i was too tired to go out and have at least 1 green beer last night. 3 hour bus ride, game, and 3 hours back seem to take a toll on you. more cuts to come today i'm sure since yesterday was friday (payday). that's usually the day that they send people down.

Question for you, who is the most hardcore nutrionist on the team? What does he eat for breakfast? hmm...most people would probably say me. i'm usually the one eating the egg whites, oatmeal, banana. every now and then i'll splurge on some eggo waffles or french toast. lately everyone's been eating what i call the cepicky sandwich - basically a homemade egg mcmuffin with ham, like the kind you'd buy from mcdonalds. some people use bagels. they're quite tasty. and then again there's the supplements i've got in my locker. a huge 10 pound bag of whey protein that everyone calls dog food. some dextrose and maltodextrin. some r-ala and taurine pills. don't worry, all legal stuff approved by the FDA and MLB for use. during the off-season i'm big into body-building stuff, or body sculpting workouts as i like to call them. Also, don't know if this has been asked before--but who do you hang out with most on the team? well i live with chris aguila right now, so i guess you could say we hang out a lot. we'll go out to eat if we don't feel like cooking dinner. but tonight, we're grilling up a pork tenderloin and some thin sliced chicken breasts. along with a salad, baked potato, and green beans, i'll make one heck of a meal. last year i was closer with matt padgett and josh wilson (both my roommates) but they're no longer with us, so i've got to find someone new.

Do you have MLB 2K6? If so, does it feel weird, yet awesome, that you're in a video game? no i dont' have it. i might have to purchase it though to check it out. I know you remember every at bat you had in the majors last year. Who did you face each time...And on a related note, what pitch do you, as a hitter, hate the most? of course i remember my 4 at-bats. the first 3 were against byung yung kim (sp?). along with being nervous and facing someone throwing submarine, i was prettty much out before i went to the plate. hardest pitch to hit would be either a knuckle or a good cutter. Hey Jorg, Good to hear from you again, I really enjoy your journals. A couple of quick questions, are you going to be catching on Tue against Wash or on Thur against Dodgers. I'll be at those games and I'm looking forward to seeing all the new players. Also any idea whose throwing those days? Thanks and keep up the great insight with your journals. i'll be catching today (tuesday) up in melbourne vs. the nats. I am not sure if this was asked before. What do you enjoy doing on your free time? I just recently read that you lived in a condo. Does most of the team (Ones who don't live down here) live in certain community or do they live anywhere they want? (I have always wondered this) the team will put us up in a hotel and if you decide to live out they will give you some money to live out. usually not enough to cover the rent (especially down here in south florida where it's so expensive during prime season). my free time i like to play video games, hang out on the computer, work out, relax with friends and do whatever. not really outdoorsman like stokes, so i don't hunt or fish or things along those lines.

Jorg, as a hitter, do you think that the dimensions of a ballpark can psychologically affect the way you hit? Are you intimidated by so-called 'pitcher's parks', or do you approach all parks the same way? (Sorry I'm in a rush, I may not have explained my question that well!) don't worry, i understand what you mean. sometimes the way a park looks can be intimidating towards a hitter. but then again, if you're not a homerun hitter (like myself), then why try to hit a homerun ??? your approach has to be the same, just whatever happens after you hit the ball happens. ideally you would like to hit line drives all over the place, but in a game of inches (realistically smaller than that), that doesn't always happen

good to hear that you got some PT today Jorg.... How was it today having Old Skipper Jack around the clubhouse...did he interact with anyone in particular while he was there?? didn't see him at all
