  1. I watched Jeremy in about 15 games last year with the Mudcats. This is Jeremy Hermida 1st at bat K on full count, (because the ball was outside) 2nd at bat first pitch fastball Home Run to Deep Right Center field. 3rd at bat walk on 4 pitches swing at none (I actually saw a game where he did that) He's incredibly patient, but when someone throws him something to hit, he can punish it, and punish it severely. I prefer this approach over someone like Jeff Francoeur (the bizzaro-Hermida). 1st at bat K on 3 pitches 2nd at bat K on 4 pitches 3rd at bat HomeRun on first mistake pitch. Hermida's approach may not impress you at first, or take your breath away but he's building a very solid foundation of learning the major league strike zone, and what pitches he can handle, and where to lay off. His approach vs Francoeur's is kinda like becoming friends with a girl before dating her, vs taking her home the first date.
  2. Back from Injury (yes, again) he's been raking. 2-4 with two HR last night (which he also did 5 days ago). He is NOT a marginal Bench Power Bat, (unless you were talking about Helms) this guy is a league leading power hitter with no ability to stay healthy. H AB BB K TB R RBI BA SLG OBP OPS PRE-INJ 32 128 15 50 50 23 16 0.25 0.390 0.328 0.719 Post INJ 22 75 12 22 38 11 15 0.293 0.506 0.390 0.897
  3. He hasn't put up numbers since coming back from the DL...... really? Cause by my math he was hitting .250 (5 for 20) before the injury, then .200 in May clearly not back to health yet (5 for 25), then has hit .315 since then (40 for 127). Obviously the Power isn't back, but he's .315 with good walk numbers since June 1st. Not too shabby
