  1. We're the kings of leaving people on base. sh*tty game. Yep, but oddly, this game our RISP was 7 of 18 and we scored 4 runs. Cards RISP was 3 of 11 and they scored 7 runs.
  2. There really is no excuse for this. Very very sad. Atleast once a new stadium rolls around, attendance will be higher and we wont have to worry about the team moving. 1) We don't know that for sure and 2) Let me tell you one thing about Miami/South Florida. It is the biggest bandwagon town in the entire U.S.A.! Nobody cares about their teams down here unless they are in the championship, with the exception of the Miami Dolphins who have been continually bad for who knows how long. In Florida, football is king. Gators, Noles, Canes, Dolphins, Jags, Bucs. It's all that is ever talked about on the radio, TV, newspaper, and general public. When any of the other major sports teams in Miami are performing poorly, you'll see an empty arena/stadium. Point in case, the Miami Heat. About five years ago, they were the laughing stock of the league. Then all of the sudden, Wade emerges as a star and Shaq is traded to them, and they are a hot commodity, quickly becomming the toughest ticket in town. Walk down the street and ask a local how the Panthers are doing this year and you'll probably get a look as though you were from another planet. Either that or a response of "4 and 4, 3rd place. NFC South." Other parts of the country care about their sports teams no matter how well they do. I'm sure weather has somewhat of an effect on the attendance, but I think some of you people put way too much into that. The reason they don't draw well is because people don't care about baseball down here. Thanks Puma. I hear what you're saying...but still. It would seem the population and the demographics of that population alone would be enough to garner more fans than what I am seeing. Again, it just amazes me.
  3. First post here (although I've been lurking for a while). I follow the Marlins here in Tennessee. What are the reasons why people don't go to the games?? I really don't know. It just amazes me nobody attends the games!?!? And this is Miami for goodness sake! Can somebody clue me in on this? Is it some sort of sour grapes with the ownership?? (I vaguely remember somebody telling me that on an unrelated, non baseball message board last year)
