Here are the problems with comparing to other teams and other markets... 1) We have the worst attendence in baseball and do most years. 2) We have been through firesales and trading key players that gets national notice 3) We have been in a major battle for a new stadium with no real resolution in sight 4) We have a lease up soon and could be out of a home All of these reasons and maybe even a few more makes the national media pick it up. I was watching the Nats-Phillies game last night and the announcers were joking about our attendence every few innings. I'm like it's the freakin Nationals announcing team and they're making fun of us!!!!! :banghead

When someone finds me another team that schedules a midweek day game in 90 degree weather, I'll agree with there being "no excuse". There is a reason no other team does this. Well, the Rangers played an afternoon game against the Mariners today. It's usually about 90 plus degrees this time of the year there...then again I have no idea how many fans were at that game today. The AP just said this: The first home day game for the Rangers since July 13 drew an announced attendance of 12,882, though the stands appeared to be far emptier. Our announced attendance was 11,211. So yeah, it's not just us. Man, spin it however you want, but I doubt they had only 600 people there in Texas. We are the only place where that ever happens.

I know the excuses...I didn't go because I got tied up at work, but at least I wanted to go. It makes the perception around the country even worse about this team and the fans.

Gregg has cost of us some games, but don't forget... Billy Wagner- 7 blown saves Jose Valverde- 6 blown saves Francisco Rodriguez- 5 blown saves. Even the best closers blow some chances, and plenty of times his team has let him down. I am not defending his crappy pitching at times...but this team overall just gets crappy in the 9th on defense too. This article is all fine and dandy, but I couldnt care less. I'd rather he just have made a simple freakin play.

It was a hard hit ball by Blanco. That was a routine DP without question. If wasn't the greatest feed to 2nd, but 90% of Major League shortstops make that play. That was bad, but it happens. Uggla covering 2nd is unacceptable. That's a little league play. My little cousion knows not to cover 2nd in that situation and he's 12 yrs old!

I'm really torn on Dan. He has so much power but he is so inconsistent that it gets so so frustrating...if they got some good value for him I'd be happy and if they kept him I'd still be happy...it's weird. :mis2

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this is just one of the many reasons why I stopped watching ESPN (outside of actual sporting events) a looooooooong time ago :thumbdown
