2003 World Series Game 6
Preston Wilson predicted the Marlins in 6 games and they did it. After watching a few minutes of the news, I decided to turn it off and turn on the local Oldies station. The song playing fit perfectly: "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing." If that doesn't describe the Marlins, I don't know what does.

From the South Side of Chicago to...
I followed the action like Hawk over the last week, and though I didn't post here, I followed the action from home over at WSI. Congratulations to the Florida Marlins and all of you fans. Thanks for an exciting postseason and for mopping the floor with the Giants, kicking the Flubs in their nads and beating those Damn Yankees. Again, Congratulations!

Reasons to hate the Cubs
The Cubbies are the enemy, no other reason needed. But I hate Wrigley Field, it looks like they are a bunch of drunks in a public garden where the Corky Little Bears play. Remember the commercial the Marlins aired when the Cubs came to town? "Cubs - small bear fond of cork that goes into hibernation well before October." Oh man, that is awesome. I wish the Sox commercials here would be more like that. All they are is something like: "Rodriguez and the Rangers take on Ordonez and the Sox tonight at 7 PM. Pre-Game at 6:30." They'd be so much better if they used something like this: "A-Rod may be good, but for 42 times the price, he's no better than Lee Majors. See Texas take on your Sox in a great showdown at the Ballpark in Arlington." Something like that.

White Sox Fans Back Marlins 110%
Another bandwagoner from White Sox Interactive here. Just wanted to let all of you know that I'll be rooting for the Marlins all the way. I remember the first World Series game I really watched, albeit with only a passing interest at the time, was the 1997 World Series Game 7 and while I don't remember much about it, I remember a base hit by Renteria and the Marlins winning it all. It was past 11 P.M. Central time, and I should've been asleep, but it was probably that game that led to my interest in baseball, which I full picked up three years later. As you can tell, I'm a little bit young here. You guys have some great talent and there was plenty of wishing over at WSI that Kenny Williams, the White Sox General Manager, would pick up Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo to push the Sox over the top. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for you all, it didn't ever come to any sort of fruition. As a Sox fan, I abhor the Cubs and all that represents them and I would love nothing more than for the Marlins to sweep them. But, will I be rooting for them in the World Series? Well, I followed the Marlins in this year's NLDS against the Giants and I was on the edge of my seat the last two games, rooting for the Fish to win. And they did, in dramatic fashion. Carry all this momentum over to the Cubs series and kick the blue out of them. Good luck to all of you and the Florida Marlins. I'll be watching closely and rooting for the Fish all the way to the World Series Championship. :thumbup
