White Sox Fans Back Marlins 110%

Featured Replies

On behalf of all of us at White Sox Interactive, we would like to extend to you our full support in the NLCS against the Cubs. For those of you who do not understand the Chicago crosstown rivalry, Cubs success causes our fans intense anguish. I am not going to go into the sociology of the White Sox-Cubs rivalry tonight, but you should know that you have a lot of people in Chicago who are behind you 110%.

Also, I should let you know that I have always had a place in my heart for the Marlins. My family has a home in South Florida, and I have followed your team since its inception in 1993. I remember the Chuckie Carr/Orestes Destrade era. I am usually in South Florida during Easter, and I make it to one or two games per year at the venue formerly known as Joe Robbie Stadium.

Finally, as you could imagine, my "?Viva M?gglio!" handle is a tribute to our right fielder, M?gglio Ord??ez. As some of you know, Maggs spends his offseason with you in South Florida.

THEN GO TO WRIGLEY AND ROOT FOR US !! MAKE IT A FIELD TRIP FOR THE WHITE SOX INTERACTIVE OR WHATEVER !!!!

I am sure Sox fans that happen to get tickets to the Wrigley games will definitely do that, but a lot of Sox fans avoid Wrigley Field as if it were the plague. For those of you who are not familiar with the Wrigleyville area, a Sox fan walking there these days could be walking into a lot of trouble from Cubs fans.

actually some of us might take you up on that offer, im gonna try and get tickets and some marlins gear. i just cant find your guys hats anywhere in our shops

Don't worry White Sox fans, we had the power to destory the Giants... I'm sure the Cubbies are in for a BIG surprise :shifty

wow, the cubs/sox rivalry is that bad then huh?...i'll be moving to great lakes, ill for a good year or 2 so seems i'll be experiencing that rivalry to the fullest.

Easily the most intense crosstown rivalry in MLB. Not even the Yankees-Mets rivalry comes close to this.

Put this way, the interleague games between the Sox and Cubs will never be played during the night. Since the last time it was played at night, every jail cell in the city was filled with fans.

Please do so. White Sox fan will be gratefull for it.

I am a White Sox fan and I support the Marlins 100%! The Marlins will have thousands upon thousands of supporters here in Chi-town! The Marlins have won as the underdog all year and I hope they do it here. The garbage media companies will boast of the cubs, but doesnt listen to their trash. Stay true and kick the Sh** out of the cubby blue!

imagine if the Cubs win the World Series? Chicago would burn down with all the Sox fans and Cub fans fighting. We better win if we still want the Sears Tower standing.

Fights really go down that often? Thats a shame, but nice to see some crazy baseball fans that have passion for the game. I hope we can get some support at Wrigley from Sox fans.

You make it sound pretty dangerous.

you make it sound like the survival of Chicago depends on us winning... i hope this doesnt add any unneccesary pressure on the boys :cool

thanx great to hear this but make sure you guys go to wrigley and root the fish on :D

The appearance of White Sox fans now that we're playing the Cubs might be the single funniest thing I've seen on this board. It's awesome! I never knew how much Chi-town fans hated each other. Welcome aboard guys, but watch your step, the bandwagon is getting awfully crowded. :thumbup

Another White Sox fan here from WSI.com, wishing the Marlins the best of luck against the Evil Empire a/k/a the sCrUBS.

Y'all did us a big favor in the WS in '97, so please continue the postseason heroics this year!

(And if you don't know what obnoxious ****heads sCrUBS fans are, just wait 'til these "world's greatest fans" invade your ballpark. They're like the idiot philosophy student in college, drunk on his first beer.)

Go Fish!

:hat

That was one fun night. Hopefully you can finish off the Flubs like we did that night!!! GO FISH!!!!

Another Sox fan here wishing Fish fans the best in beating the Flubs. That ol' Marlin hat is going to get some use this week!

Another bandwagoner from White Sox Interactive here.

Just wanted to let all of you know that I'll be rooting for the Marlins all the way. I remember the first World Series game I really watched, albeit with only a passing interest at the time, was the 1997 World Series Game 7 and while I don't remember much about it, I remember a base hit by Renteria and the Marlins winning it all. It was past 11 P.M. Central time, and I should've been asleep, but it was probably that game that led to my interest in baseball, which I full picked up three years later. As you can tell, I'm a little bit young here.

You guys have some great talent and there was plenty of wishing over at WSI that Kenny Williams, the White Sox General Manager, would pick up Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo to push the Sox over the top. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for you all, it didn't ever come to any sort of fruition.

As a Sox fan, I abhor the Cubs and all that represents them and I would love nothing more than for the Marlins to sweep them. But, will I be rooting for them in the World Series? Well, I followed the Marlins in this year's NLDS against the Giants and I was on the edge of my seat the last two games, rooting for the Fish to win. And they did, in dramatic fashion.

Carry all this momentum over to the Cubs series and kick the blue out of them.

Good luck to all of you and the Florida Marlins. I'll be watching closely and rooting for the Fish all the way to the World Series Championship.
