lol, i love hearing all the scrubs, cubs suck, etc. from Sox fans...They talk trash all year, and when they arent near the playoffs, they still keep talkin, i love it...Have any of u guys seen the Braves message boards before? Best answer I can give you is, the teams have very different cultures associated with them. The Cubs have been traditionally for the more affluent, the Chicago transplants and the people who live on the North Side of town. The Sox have been more of a working class team and for people who are lifetime Chicagoans. That's not to say the Cubs don't have native Chicagoans or that the Sox don't have any transplants, but that is the generality of it. Also, more recently, the Cubs have catered toward the single 20-something crowd while the Sox have been more popular among families. But to really understand it, you gotta spend a summer in Chicago.

Another one of those WSI'ers here to post my support for the Fighting Fish! I think the Marlins ability to play small ball combined with their team speed will off-set the arms of Wood, Prior, and Clement. Throw Pudge & Conine into the mix, and you guys will be right there... GO MARLINS!!!

How true is this anymore? I know I fit into many possible Cubfan stereotypes, yet I'm a Sox fan.

 

Just so you Fish fans don't get a version that's too skewed, there indeed exist Sox fans who would like to see the Cubs win.

 

But I can't decide yet. It was easy against the Braves (go Cubs), tougher choice against Marlins.

This is awesome! I have never seen fans of other teams root for another team just because they hate another team! This is great...good cinema.

 

Oh, and for you Cane fans, you all know I am a Nole - and I got the feeling your luck has run out this year. No wide right to save you. Just pure, 110% whoop a**...

 

And the Marlins reign supreme on the field over the overconfident, media-savy Cubs. We are the true underdogs here - it seems most people cant even acknowledge we are in the playoffs - STILL!!!
