White Sox Fans Back Marlins 110%

Featured Replies

Greetings, Marlins Fans! I'm another WSI / Sox fan that's rooting for the Fighting Fish (as our TV guy Hawk Harrelson refers to 'em) to snuff out the Scrubs!

As you might guess by my user name, Ozzie Guillen was one of my favorite players when he was with the Sox in the mid-to-late 80's through 199?

We'll save the debate on whether we want Ozzie as our next manager for another time. For now, let's take care of important business. CRUSH THE SCRUBS!!!

smo

:cheers :beer

ChiSox are probably my 3rd or 4th favorite team, i watch a few games on WGN during the season because Hawk and DJ are great anouncers and they bring a fans perspective to the game...

Cubs will be sent packing, Wait Till Next Year lol

My girlfriend lives in CHI, so naturally we have a bit of a competition here. But she is not a baseball die hard, prefers basketball. But still, love the fact that there are Marlin fans, if only temporary, in Chitown. When I move to Chicago, I will consider your offer for becoming a White Sox fan...j/k!

I want to see us whip up on the Cubs for so many reasons. One, to see Dusty and the genius label soften a little bit. Two, to showcase our stellar young pitching staff - Prior and Wood are good, but our starters combined and bullpen are better. Much better. And finally, just to see this team go from the bottom to the top - and make everyone eat crow (again)!

We are coming... :shifty :pacsmile

OOOOOHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAAA!!! I WANNA SEE SOME MARLINS UNIS AND HATS AT WRIGLEY!! :D thnx for supporting us chisox fans. Welcome to the boards :cool

Hope y'all make some noise in Wrigley.

I've been to Chicago several different times in the summer and I have always managed to hate the Cubs. This summer when I attended Home Run Derby at the nicest ballpark in Illinois, I was overjoyed to see White Sox fans booing Corky. Cubs' fans are pussies who don't care about winning, just taking off their shirt and getting drunk. Lets end their season!!!!

Hi guys, yup another White Sox fan from WSI.

Just want to say that I will be supporting you guys 100%. Like many have mentioned, there's tons of people in Chicago that will be cheering on the Marlins.

Come on guys, please do us the favor of taking the Flubs out.

GO FISH!

Man, there are going to be so many brawls in the stands in PPS this weekend.

People going to the game should do a blue-blackout. Don't wear teal: just silver and black. Or something like that because teal and blue are very different colors.

Either way I will have my Sammy Sosa Cork shirt on with my Dontrelle jersey unbuttoned.

You guys can also help by booking all the flights to south florida this weekend so all the Cubbies fans can't come down here to our party!

You're a genius!

I'm expecting 20% of the crowd to be Cubs' fans!

Now that I think of it, it would be fun for us White Sox fans to show up at Game 1 and Game 2 to cheer on the Marlins. It is indeed quite a novel idea. If I had the time and money (and tickets), I'd do it. However, I am afraid that there won't be many Sox fans there for a number of reasons:

1) The games are already sold out, and 99.9% of those who bought the tickets are Cubs fans. Of course, we could pay a gazillion dollars per ticket through the Cubs illegal ticket scalping operation.

2) A number of White Sox fans boycott Wrigleyville to begin with, even though many do decend upon the area when the Sox are playing at Wrigley.

Hopefully, however, a good number of White Sox and Marlins fans will manage to wiggle their way into Wrigley Field and provide the essential fifth column among the Cubbie faithful.

For those of you coming from South Florida to Chicago for these games, welcome to our great city. Hopefully, you will especially enjoy your visit to Wrigleyville.

Great going, you guys - kicking the Giants' butts! Most impressive.

You won my heart. But now that you are going to beat the Flubs for us, I love you even more!

If I could, I'd be flying down to support you. Or I'd be going to Wrigley with my Marlins gear. Unfortunately, only Flubbies have those kinds of $$$$.

Maybe I'll just walk around the neighborhood with it, to make it look like lots of Marlins fans have invaded the city.

Great website, too - it's mighty handsome!

Another Sox fan here. My Marlins hat is on order, should be here in time for Game 2. Oh for the love of baseball, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE beat the Cubs. You don't understand, the very future of our franchise depends on the Marlins winning this series. There has perhaps never been a playoff series in which the stakes were so high for a team that has already been eliminated.

We Sox fans have a saying ? "When it comes to baseball we have two favorite clubs: The Go-Go White Sox and whoever plays the Cubs." That's never been truer than right now. GO MARLINS!!!

I love Hawk's home run call. "PUT IT ON THE BOARD.....YESSSSS!!!!"

Cubs fans are usually annoying, but White Sox fans are very much like us. Ownership troubles and lower than expected attendance. Both fan bases are blue-collar, which is why most people don't understand why we draw so poorly.

You will get to know and love our players as you see them and grow to understand our odd ballpark. The Bermuda Triangle has cost many Cubs many homers. :D

This will be fun. BTW, Ozzie Guillien is our third base coach. Remember him? lol

Yes, another Sox fan here from WSI. I HATE the Cubs and everything they stand for. I recieved a phone call last night from one of my idiot scrub fan friends asking me who won game 5 the sox or the cubs. So now I'm going to Grandstand by Comiskey Park to get my Marlin gear and when the Fighting Fish win this series, I'm gonna call not just that guy but everyone else I know that is a scrub fan and rub their nose in it.

Somebody call Jack McKeon(i believe that's how you spell it) and let him know to bunt with Pierre and Castillo because the Scrub pitchers can't field their position because they think they can strike everybody out.

I love the idea of going to Wrigley and supporting you guys but I would have to leave after 2 innings because I don't like frat parties. Like vivamagglio said we avoid it like the plague.

GO FISH GO

If JP and Castillo get bunt and get on base it could take us a long-a** way in this series.

Does Damian Miller throw people out well?

I'm not sure but i dont think so

he looks like a weak little panzy :p

As DJ would say. "Here's a reminder" to all of you Sox fans that are having trouble finding Fish gear go to Grandstand on 35th by the ballpark. They usually have everything you need. For any Marlin fan coming hear for the games it is on 35th street south of the city a few blocks west of Us Cell field aka comiskey park. I know this sounds like a bad plug but I've been reading about knowbody finding Marlin stuff anywhere in Chicagoland..

Lofton goes back he looks up you can put it on the board yessssss. A 3 run bomb by Encarnacion and the fish lead it 3-0.

he looks like a manager

remember: our pitching has been stellar, and Chicago doesn't have much of an offense

AlOOOOOOU looks like their biggest threat and we just sent his daddy to the old folk's home!

Miller and Paul Bako suck. Speed kills. If they can manufacture runs you'll be in good shape. The Scrubs didn't exactly kill the ball and they won. If it wasn't for Kerry Wood picking up the offense it game 1. The Braves would have won the series in 4.

One minor pet peeve of us Sox fans ? please don't refer to the North Side club as "Chicago." I know that's part of their name, but it's also part of our name, and we don't want to be associated with them.

Acceptable references to the Marlins NLCS opponent:

Cubs

Scrubs

Flubs

North Siders

Losers (leave off the "Loveable" ... nothing is loveable about losing)

Thanks guys ;)
