I'm another White Sox fan / WSI guy here to offer my congratulations, and a big THANKS to the mighty Marlins for their defeat of the hapless cursed Scrubs. As many other Sox fans have pointed out, the Fish have saved us a winter, if not a lifetime, of having a World Series appearance, let alone a possible victory, rubed in our face. They have saved us, and our franchise, from grief and shame. As I type this, the hated Yankees are celebrating after an 11th inning walk-off homer by Aaron Boone to beat the OTHER media darling / cursed team, the Red Sox. This makes a much easier choice on who to root for in the WS: LET'S GO FISH!!! CRUSH THE YANKEES!!! :cheers SMO

We're still with you, Fish Fans. Beat the Scrubs in game 6 and then watch them choke in game 7! The Marlins have been one of my favorite NL teams for a while, because I've seen many of these guys when they passed through town with the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League A level team I've been following along with the Sox. As for the Sox playing the Marlins in inter-league play next year, we usually don't see the earlybird schedule until our annual fan fest, held in January/ February this year. Until our teams meet between the lines in 2004, GO FISH!!! SMO

mcdonalds sucks. especially there new ad slogan. whats with the hip hop thing? They switched from "we love to make you smile" to "im lovin' it' " I guess they dont like to make people smile anymore. like in this picture, mc D's payed some rappers to pose with ronald, to show ronald is "down" with hip hop. check out the goofy white guy in it LOL "Pointing his finger defiantly, Ronald is no stranger to rap music. " You'll need to be more specific - I see TWO goofy white guys in that photo! And without ever having had a Cuban sandwich, I'd gues that McD's screwed it up pathetically. Whenever they approach "ethnic" or "spicy", they have to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Sorry for being off-topic - please return to pro-Marlins discussion. Still Miss Ozzie :lol

Wow, I haven't seen so many WSI refugees since... WSI! Hangar18, steff, cheeses_, Viva Magglio, FJA, Marq, CubKilla (?)... I know there's more of us out here on the DEEP South Side now, I just can't remember all the names I've scrolled by. Anyhow, I've got another Chicago - Marlins connection to give me yet another reason to root for the Fish. Up until the current year, The Kane County Cougars, a nearby Midwest League A minor league team, was affiliated with - the Marlins! ( They just switched over to the Oakland A's this year ) I've been to 4-5 KCC games a year for the last 7-8 years now, and I know I've seen more than a few of your young stars come through our neck of the woods on their way to the big leagues. Dontrelle Willis & Beckett are two that come to mind. Just a few reasons, then, to root for the Marlins: 1) Desire to see the Scrubs get impaled on a Marlin spike 2) The local-boys-made-good from their KCC days 3) Love to see Dontrelle stick it to the team that traded him for Alfonsucka 4) Deflate the lowly Scrubs fans to go back under their rocks GO FIGHTING FISH!!! Greetings, Marlins Fans! I'm another WSI / Sox fan that's rooting for the Fighting Fish (as our TV guy Hawk Harrelson refers to 'em) to snuff out the Scrubs! As you might guess by my user name, Ozzie Guillen was one of my favorite players when he was with the Sox in the mid-to-late 80's through 199?
