This is from all us marlins fans, thanks. You guys have been great, no reason to EVER root against you, unless ur playing the marlins, even then we still like you. Thanks again

AMEN!

i can finally say for the very first time that i have a team to root for 2nd to the Marlins. wish i could actually watch some games but i will try to listen to some games online through the radio. i did that a few times during hockey season with my other teams. i'll keep up with scores from your site where i am now a memeber if i cant actually listen to the games. good luck next year.

Oakland was my AL team that I liked...but I think I'll be rooting for ChiSox more often....My one co-worker will be surprised...He's a ChiSox fan and a Padres fan (Rooted for McKeon for that old Pads connection)

To the Marlins:

Not only do I want to think you, but all White Sox fans thank you, because had the Cubs made it to the World Series it would have been the end of baseball. Baseball would have been over in the city of Chicago. There's not doubt. There would be more of a pro-Cubs shadow over this city than already exists. No baseball fan in their right mind needs that. Moreover, the Marlins played with the heart and persistance that makes me glad I'm a baseball fan. Defeating Prior and Wood consecutively had not been done in 2003 and only the Marlins can do it convincingly. Jeffrey Loria may be a prick, but he's a smart prick. Baseball needs that too. Thank you Marlins and thank you Marlins fans for showing up in mobs to Pro Player and rooting on the fish against the Schlubs. We love you on the southside now and forever.

After the treatment of Steve Bartman, I'd be embarrassed to be a Cubs fan...

I pretty much came to the conclusion after last night's game and the "Cub's Fan"'s debacle that Chicago did not deserve to win tonight....And even after Cubs went up 5-3 I didn't flinch...I kept thinking of '97 Series Game 7...Down 2-0 early and FLorida cacme back and took it all...I had no doubt they would tie it back up...

CONGRATULATIONS MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This White Sox fan (and now Marlins fan too!) couldn't be happier! You have saved the city of Chicago from eternal cubbie hell....

The Marlins fans have a lot of class--something missing on the north side of Chicago.

The Marlins truly deserved to win. Now it's on to the World Series--and White Sox fans are behind the Marlins all the way!!!

GO MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Marlins Fans...

Thank you for letting us share our distaste for the Cubs with you. Thanks for letting us cheer for the Fish with you. I can say I'll be checking out the Marlins a little more often next season. However, I'm Sox all the way when they and the Marlins meet in next year's World Series.

In spite of the disappointment, the local media is spinning as much of a positive angle on this Cub loss as possible. While there is no overlooking the obvious, Cubs fans in and out of the press are looking for anything good to talk about. In fact, our CBS affiliate aired a story from your CBS station about how Miami is offering the infamous "interfering Cub fan" everything from a $500 per night in a hotel, a house in Fort Lauderdale and other "refuge" to hide from angry Cub fans.

But here's something pretty neat...there was a gathering on the far south side of Chicago where White Sox fans cheered for the Fish. The local news is showing clips of people singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" and rubbing it in to Cubs fans. There's no mercy from them, and there's no mercy from me...at least as far as not cheering for the Cubs is concerned. The news reporter I work with is also a Sox fan, but he's not going to air any of the footage...he doesn't want to "condescend". Oh well...you can't win 'em all. I guess I'll have to do the "rubbing in" when I get the chance.

Take care, and enjoy the pennant. Thank you Marlins for breaking the spell of the "evil empire" known as "Cubbieville". Believe me...Chicago is a great city. There's something for everyone here in spite of the cold weather. However, the only thing about Chicago I will NOT spout about are the sCrUBS. I can't stand them, and I'm glad...as Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, Sox TV broadcaster says, "This ballgame is over!!!!!"

:jump :jump :jump :jump

Marlin Fans, I wish you couldve seen us at a bar, on the SOuth side of Chicago.

WE cheered, we yelled the PLACE WAS BANANAS LAST NITE, and when the FISH

Finally got the last out, THAT PLACE WAS SOOOOOOOOO LOUD......

WE Actually Spilled out onto Western Ave in front of the place, Burned a Cubs flag, traffic was honking, every car yelling out GO MARLINS. it was excellent

Oh...one more thing Marlin Fans!!! Channel 12 Tv Station from Miami

came to the bar, and took pictures of 2 of my Signs I made for the Bar.

"GO FISH" and the "Ignore the Media, Root for the MARLINS"

I took pics and i'll have to post them here when I get them developed

Man...I wish I could've been there. However, I had the thrill of rubbing in the loss to my alleged Sox-fan/Jenny-Come-Lately Cub fan wife (She says she's a Sox fan, but she said that since the Cubs were a "Chicago team", she couldn't root against them). I'll have to check her into some local rehab program...pray I find a good one...too many sCrUBS fans here in Chicago. I love her, and I had to be careful since my kids were sleeping. However, my arms in the air and other motions made it perfectly clear my prediction of a Marlins' win, as well as my devotion to my favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, vindicated.

However, I do have a favorite National League team to cheer for and guess who it is...here's a clue...IT AIN'T THE CUBS!!!!!

GO FISH, and best wishes to your team in the Series.

You guys/ladies rock! Thanks for all the support and the White Sox are now my 2nd favorite team. :)

You Sox fans have been there for us from the beginning of this Series. Now that it's over, I hope you guys stay and help cheer our team on in the W.S.

I can't thank you enough for everything you have done to help support us!!

Don't worry, we're still here!

LET'S GO MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE STILL BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From this Sox fan, thank you MARLINS for pulling it out last night. You have saved our fan base and saved this city. Go kick the AL's a**, and I will be cheering for you all next season

Marlins fans, you are most welcome. We'll all be watching the Pedro-Rocket matchup tonight and see whom you will face on Saturday. And as I said before, we American League fans will be rooting for the National League team this time. We are in debt to you for what you have done for us.

Congratulations to the Marlins and their fans from another ChiSox fan! You have my undying gratitude for saving us and the world from hyper-Cub sentimentality and media overkill. I really admire the no-quit, gutty play of your team and--if your owner will cooperate--with the likes of players like Beckett, Pierre, and Cabrera the future looks bright for years to come. At any rate, I just wanted to drop by your board and wish you well, and to let you know that yet another White Sox fan will be rooting for you in the WORLD SERIES! Go Fish!!

Hey just another Sox Fan in Chi-Town, here to wish the Fish the best of luck in the Series.

Your team is exciting and fun to watch, and I really looking forward to seeing them shock their AL opponent.

As much as the media and hype surrounding the Cubs cast you guys as underdogs. In baseball, it has to be settled on the field. And it's never who you think is the best team is that wins - it's always the team that plays best that wins.

No doubt the Marlins outplayed the Cubs. Bartman or not.

Good Luck! :D

do any of you fans in miami know how us white sox fans can order some of that marlins hot sauce? it will make a very nice christmas gift to cub fans. thanks

I actually searched around some sports stores last night for some Marlins gear, but couldn't find a thing (I'm far away in Seattle, so it makes sense). But I will be getting some Fish gear, and I will be here cheering on the Marlins in the Series (like I would really want the evil Yanks, or the lovable "cursed" Red Sox to win??)

You guys rule!

thanks for the support of all the white sox nation.

its always appreciated.

stick around and join in the baseball fun around here.

and please...educate us on the sox, its always welcome.

Thank you Marlins for saving Chicago baseball!!! I have had so much joy giving it back to all the stupid cub fans who have been giving me crap all month. My god, what a great 27 hours it was from the time game 6 started until game 7 ended. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! And i'll definitely be rooting for the marlins in the world series, during 159 of their 2004 games :D , and for years to come....

and please...educate us on the sox, its always welcome.

Hey Texan,

Feel free to go to whitesoxinteractive.com for a better grasp of the Sox. And, for that "offical" feeling, go to whitesox.com

Gene

i registered over at WSI yesterday.

will have to wander over there once things quiet down a bit here.

Another ChiSox fan here to congratulate you and your Marlins for defeating the hated sCrUBS. Keep it going in the Series!! Don't let any Yankees or Red Sox fans come in here talking smack. If they do, call on us. We've got your back...

Thank you Marlins for an INCREDIBLE 3-game clutch drive, including 2 games in the heart of the urinal, scooping up the diarrhea and tossing it right back into the northside, to save the integrity of the great game of baseball. This lifelong AL fanatic will be rooting for the NL in this year's world series.

Don't pay any attention to the media. Just looking at the Google news headlines about the series, only about 2 of the 50 on the first page actually have the words "Florida" or "Marlins" in the title. (But at least some of the airheads at ESPN are paying their dues... good article)

Don't be afraid of the sore-losing Skoal chewers or the Manhattan metrosexual pretty boys, either. Jack put it best, this is the team that just doesn't give up. Shock the media and take the prize!

And I hope you'll give us your blessings when Ozzie comes over here to manage our team! He's our favorite candidate by far.

And finally, we hope to be meeting you in the 2004 WS.

Thanks again. And you can put it on the board... YES!
