October 7, 200322 yr dude i cant pick, for me its a sin to pick any of my teams to lose no matter whats the case. i cant do it. the way i see it, a canes loss means they could be out of the national title hunt, a Dolphins loss hurts their shot at a division title which affects their shot at a Super Bowl title (something i want badly)
October 7, 200322 yr We play FSU every year. We do not get a chance at the title every year. We are not the Yankees. This is a no brainer IMO. I would prefer both but a Canes loss will not end their season. While on the other hand a Marlins title could save Miami baseball for good.

October 7, 200322 yr wow. honestly i have never been able to root for any team other than the marlins. i detest the flubs but i was nuetral about the white sox. the sox are now my other favorite team, and my favorite from the AL. you guys are awesome. i think it was capefish that mentioned how you guys are just like us (management troubles, bluecollar...) and that makes you guys totally f**king cool in my book. those arrogant cork loving baby bear fans won't know what hit them. my favorite marlins comercial (and Admin's also) was the one where we made fun of the cubs. Marlin: terror of the deep etc. etc... Cub: small woodlen creature who is fond of cork and hibernates long before october. HAHHAHAHAHAHHAH well they forgot to hibernate this season but we'll make sure they don't stay up too far past their bed time. :thumbup

October 7, 200322 yr What's up Marlins fans? Yep, another sox fan from WSI here to root on the fighting fish! I bought my Marlins hat today just across the street from Wrigley field. Not that I really wanted to travel to that awful place but it was the only place around Chicago that wasn't sold out of Marlins hats. Anyways, good luck to you all. I've always liked the Marlins mainly because as someone pointed out they are kinda like the White Sox (except the Marlins actually have a World Series championship within the past 80 years =/). But I really like your team. We Sox fans would love to have one of the two guys at the top of your lineup and there has been a lot of talk by Sox fans hoping that the Sox would go after Castillo. Though it isn't likely, we're still very envious of what you have going. Hopefully Lowell can play this series but Cabrera really looks like hes going to be a good player for many years. I hope you guys can keep most of your team together after this year because they really should be fun to watch for quite a few years especially with all the young pitchers you have. BTW, any word on Burnett's recovery? I know he won't be fully healthy for another year but if hes able to come back next year and be even near where he used to be, wow, thats going to be one hell of a rotation with him, Willis, Beckett, Redman, and Penny (not sure if Redman is signed through next year or not...?) Anyways, enjoy the series Marlins fans. I think you guys really have a chance to win this so go shock those Scrubs fans!
October 7, 200322 yr Wow, I haven't seen so many WSI refugees since... WSI! Hangar18, steff, cheeses_, Viva Magglio, FJA, Marq, CubKilla (?)... I know there's more of us out here on the DEEP South Side now, I just can't remember all the names I've scrolled by. Anyhow, I've got another Chicago - Marlins connection to give me yet another reason to root for the Fish. Up until the current year, The Kane County Cougars, a nearby Midwest League A minor league team, was affiliated with - the Marlins! ( They just switched over to the Oakland A's this year ) I've been to 4-5 KCC games a year for the last 7-8 years now, and I know I've seen more than a few of your young stars come through our neck of the woods on their way to the big leagues. Dontrelle Willis & Beckett are two that come to mind. Just a few reasons, then, to root for the Marlins: 1) Desire to see the Scrubs get impaled on a Marlin spike 2) The local-boys-made-good from their KCC days 3) Love to see Dontrelle stick it to the team that traded him for Alfonsucka 4) Deflate the lowly Scrubs fans to go back under their rocks GO FIGHTING FISH!!!
