October 7, 200322 yr Yet there exist other Sox fans who aren't in drooling-hatred-for-anything-that-even-sounds-like-the-Cubs mode. Can it be?
October 7, 200322 yr Yet there exist other Sox fans who aren't in drooling-hatred-for-anything-that-even-sounds-like-the-Cubs mode. Can it be? espn and the rest of the media did a good job with their brainwashing i guess
October 7, 200322 yr Beware of Sox fans hitching their bundles of sour grapes onto the Marlin bandwagon. Could be a karmic sandbag. we don't mind it here. feels good to have some allies. we're so used to dealing with haters who have no real reason to hate.
October 7, 200322 yr Just another White Sox fan checking in, giving my full support to the Marlins. It should be a great series to watch. Hopefully, the curse of the Billy Goat will live on I am a big fan of the Marlins, due to Chicago's close proximity to the Kane County Coogars. I saw Josh Beckett a few times, and he has became one of my favorite pitchers. Watching a lot of guys go through the system is very cool. Charles Johnson was the minor leaguer I have seen in person make it to the big leagues. GO FISH!
October 7, 200322 yr Hey it's another WSIer. I'm lifelong (all 20 years) Sox fan from the Chicago area cheering on the Marlins, now and in the future! For my own sanity, kill the scubs! Then for once, the fans will shut up! Go Fighting Fish!
October 7, 200322 yr Shoeless Joe was a great player. I bet Das saw him in person... :lol :lol :lol Classic KJC.
October 7, 200322 yr I heard the bandwagon was filling up fast so I didn't want to miss it!! GO MARLINS!!!
October 7, 200322 yr Another White Sox fan, jumping on the bandwagon. Be thankful you'll never know the pain of being the second most liked team in your own city... Go Marlins!
October 7, 200322 yr Shoeless Joe was a great player. I bet Das saw him in person... never saw him play for the sox. i was a little too young at the time, and not being from or anywhere near chicago, i never got the opportunity to do so. I do think I saw him playing in some independent leagues after he was kicked out under a different name. It looked like him, at least from what I had heard about him, and there were whispers in the stands about whether it was him or not. Those were fun days though, ahh...to be young again.
October 7, 200322 yr I recognize that my nickname is probably making a bunch of you upset. But I hope we can put aside our college football passions while we watch the Fish beat up on the Flubs. then, come Nov. 1 we should do what comes naturally as the 'canes visit Blacksburg. ...Wilford learned to catch in the past couple years... GO MARLINS!
October 7, 200322 yr Marlin Fans ........... Sox Army Unit to be Deployed. Purchased Marlin Hats last nite, will watch the game 1 blk away from the Urinal the Media call the "Shrine". Permission to Engage The Enemy SIR !

October 7, 200322 yr we don't mind it here. feels good to have some allies. we're so used to dealing with haters who have no real reason to hate. You guys won my heart. We really, really know what THAT is like. We just think, "what did we do to deserve THIS". Plus, people are calling you the "mullets". We get called crap like that.
October 7, 200322 yr i actually like the haters, like to see the looks on their faces or their reactions when they're proven wrong. Bring on the haters
October 7, 200322 yr Go Fish! Another Sox fan here from WSI to back the Marlins. Just so you know, I will try and capture exactly what the opposing fan base is like for you. There are five types of Cubs fans: 1) The hipsters- These are the fans that show up to the ballpark and could care less about the outcome. They are just looking for a party. They will show up late, leave early, and spend the rest of the night partying at the Cubbebear. Their only reason for rooting for the Cubs is because the media has told them that it is cool to do so. 2) The Tourists- These people are also not real baseball fans. If you asked most of these people to name some Cubs players, they would stop after Sosa and Wood. They saw on ESPN/WGN that Wrigley field is an old baseball "shrine," so they decided to make the Cubs their favorite baseball team. Of course, they might not watch more than ten baseball games all year, but they find that Wrigley field is an enjoyable place to bring the kids when visiting Chicago. 3) The Frat Boys- The Cubs play most of their homegames at 1PM. Could there be a better place to go when skipping class than the bleachers of Wrigley Field? These people don't have 9 to 5 jobs, so the Cubs make the perfect team for them because of the day games. It should be noted that many of these people also root for a team in their native city, but they root for the Cubs upon attending college in the mid-west. 4) The Yuppies- Musn't it be great to be able to attend baseball games during the day? To the yuppie, nothing is better than sitting in the sun, watching the babes walk buy, and talking on your cell phone. What, you mean they play baseball at Wrigley Field? Most of these people wouldn't know because they don't have their head turned that way. 5) The Elderly- These are the few Cubs fans that I understand. Older, retired people don't want to stay up until 10 watching a Sox game. The Cubs are much more convenient for them because of the number of day games. Besides, for the lonely, older people Harry Carrey provided them with an old friend every afternoon. My grandfather falls into the class. He's and ex-Sox fan turned Cubs fan after his retirement. I don't condone it, but I understand. Well, I hope you now have a better understanding of what you are up against, here. Prepare to hear the worst over the next week or two because the media is against you. You, and the Yankees, are all that prevents them from their Red Sox/Cubbies (as the morons call their team) dream match-up. Trust me when I say that the media's attitude towards that team will make your victory all that much sweeter in the end.
October 7, 200322 yr Still room on the bandwagon?..... I won't lie, my first reason for posting my support here is due to hatred of all things Cubbie Blue. But, I would have been rooting for the Fish to win it all even if they weren't playing the Flubs. They are by far the most interesting story in MLB this postseason. I would love to see them torpedo all this nauseating Cubbie/Red Sox nonsense. Go Marlins!!! Half of Chicago is firmly behind you! :thumbup
October 7, 200322 yr Author There is still a little bit of room. Hop aboard. The bandwagon is so huge that I think it's docked at Port Everglades.
October 7, 200322 yr Another White Sox fan, jumping on the bandwagon.? Be thankful you'll never know the pain of being the second most liked team in your own city... Go Marlins!? uh, well the Marlins are clearly far behind the Dolphins down here.... but I know you meant baseball only... Hey, all White Sox fans are hereby invited to a huge beach party if we beat the Cubs and go to the World Series. Admin will be reserving an entire hotel on South Beach for us all! :thumbup See you at the Clevelander!
