The Badass Team Tourney
Let's break this down...bad asses on each team... White Sox - the best team in the Central doesnt mean they make the best fighters. Frank Thomas is a hoss, but slow. Konerko looks like he could do some damage. Jose Contreras is a big mean cuban who could slug a few people in my book. Garcia is a big guy too but seems too nice to do much damage. Hey, don't leave out A.J. Pierzynski. :shifty

Vote Carl Crawford In!!
I just voted for Torii Hunter 25 times. Apparently he is neck and neck with Jeter. 840528[/snapback] You voted for the wrong guy. It's actually Podsednik that is neck and neck with Jeter. From MLB.com: After one day of balloting, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter leads the American League voting by a hair over Chicago White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik. The AL's other nominees, in order of current position in the voting, are Minnesota Twins outfielder Torii Hunter, Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui and outfielder Carl Crawford of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Help us Sox fans out, Marlins fans. I know some of you are probably Devil Rays fans and like Crawford, but he's in last place and unfortunately for Crawford, he just isn't going to get the support. Podsednik still has a chance though, so help us Sox fans out. Give Pods a little support. You know we'd do the same for Marlins players. We supported you in the playoffs 2 years ago. We even let you use our ballpark last year. Throw a little love Pods way. He is to us what Pierre was to your team in recent years.

Ok the Mavs are SICK
Big deal. They still have no low post game. No one to give them those tough points in the paint or pull down rebounds. They still have mediocore at best defense and rebounding. So they'll score 100 each game and give up 105. We've seen this in sports before and it rarely works. Won't be any different this time. Too many guys who need the ball in their hands. Not enough balls to go around. And no one willing to do the little things that really make a difference in a game. They'd be better off with Najera starting.

Prediction: Prior gets rocked
I don't think he'll get rocked. I see him going 7 innings giving up 2 but leaving the game tied 2-2. The Flubs pen then blows the game...again.

Let's talk basketball.
lebron needs to learn how to shoot. I shoot better than him. As far as the Kings.....not going to happen. Why not? If they're healthy, they are still one of the most talented teams going. Of course it all hinges on Webber's health and if Bibby can bounce back from last years horrible effort and actually earn that large paycheck. Miller's addition just adds to their depth.

Let's talk basketball.
The Kings will dominate the West and finally be champs this year. Hopefully... I really think the Bulls will surprise this year. I think if all goes right for them, a 5th seed is not out of question. Curry began to become a dominate low post player last year. His rebounding is still questionable. Chandler is pretty much the opposite as his rebounding has been fine but he really has no defined scoring game yet. Those two along with Crawford should help to lead the Bulls to the playoffs along with vets like Marshall and Pippen.

ESPN's Football Drama - "PLAYMAKERS"
To me it's overexaggerated bullcrap, it's lowest common denominator programming. Everyone's cheating, everyone's on steroids, everyone's on coke, this crap belongs on Fox. With this & that stupid reality fishing show they've got.....wow. I don't think the show is trying to say that every team is like this. Not every team has a franchise running back who is a drug addict and hangs out with thugs, or a back who is a wife beater, or a standout wide receiver who is gay, or a coach who is suffering with cancer, etc. I think the point of the show is to show what happens behind closed doors. However, to illustrate this they chose to use one team. Now if they wanted to make it more real they could have split these problems up between different teams but that makes it much harder to film as they would need a hell of a lot more actors and it makes it harder to show. This way they can just use one team to show all of the problems that may and do occur in the NFL. That's my IMO though. I don't think they were trying to say that all of this goes on with each team, but that these are problems that teams and players have to deal with in all sports. I think it's a good show.

MNF comeback by Peyton Manning
That was an amazing game. A hell of a comeback by Peyton and the Colts. That was a weird way to end the game as well. Vanderjagt misses the FG but then a penalty gives him another shot and he barely puts it through after it bounces off the upright. Great game! Especially with the way these MNF games have gone so far.

White Sox Fans Back Marlins 110%
What's up Marlins fans? Yep, another sox fan from WSI here to root on the fighting fish! I bought my Marlins hat today just across the street from Wrigley field. Not that I really wanted to travel to that awful place but it was the only place around Chicago that wasn't sold out of Marlins hats. Anyways, good luck to you all. I've always liked the Marlins mainly because as someone pointed out they are kinda like the White Sox (except the Marlins actually have a World Series championship within the past 80 years =/). But I really like your team. We Sox fans would love to have one of the two guys at the top of your lineup and there has been a lot of talk by Sox fans hoping that the Sox would go after Castillo. Though it isn't likely, we're still very envious of what you have going. Hopefully Lowell can play this series but Cabrera really looks like hes going to be a good player for many years. I hope you guys can keep most of your team together after this year because they really should be fun to watch for quite a few years especially with all the young pitchers you have. BTW, any word on Burnett's recovery? I know he won't be fully healthy for another year but if hes able to come back next year and be even near where he used to be, wow, thats going to be one hell of a rotation with him, Willis, Beckett, Redman, and Penny (not sure if Redman is signed through next year or not...?) Anyways, enjoy the series Marlins fans. I think you guys really have a chance to win this so go shock those Scrubs fans!
