  1. Someone I would love to see hired as Marlins Batting coach in all seriousness because he comes from the old Charlie Lau school of hitting and has a ton of experience would be Hal McRae... The Marlins organization needs to infuse a whole new approach to hitting altogether and he would be the right one to get it done Lau's son runs a clinic here in maimi, he claims to have worked with Miggy and Cameron Maybin. I dont see the marlins hiring Mcrae after Tino had to resign because of behavior issues.
  2. I hope we bring back Infante. BTW has anyone noticed how good Yunel Escobar has being this year? I mean damn had Beinfest kept him and Dominguez we might have being decent this year. I really hope we are not the team that overpays for Infante. Dietrich could be a fine bat, no reason not to give him the opportunity. And we wouldn't have Dietrich if we kept Escobar, which I believe was the right move. Dietrich for 6-7 yrs > Escobar for 2 yrs. Not really, Beinfest lost that trade, because Escobar is more valuable now. I completely disagree, Beinfest won that trade so far. Escobar finished the year with a .699 OPS in his age 30 season and was under contract for only 2 years at like $8 Million. Dietrich left here on a bad note, and even then, his OPS was .679 for the year in his age 24 season with 6 more years under club control, 3 for the league minimum. Only a 20 point difference in OPS but Dietrich is much younger and will be here for quite a while. Yunel Escobar > Derek Dietrich in 2013. Yunel Escobar

  4. There's jack & sh*t at 3b. (You can use that Admin) Probably wind up with a "meh" inexpensive placeholder for a season, Mike Fontenot or something. There's a little more available at catcher though still not great - Salty would be interesting but I imagine Boston will keep him. They aren't spending for McCann. Soto maybe if the Rangers look elsewhere. Theres also Ruiz, but the phillies will try to keep him. Same story with Navarro. A nice proyect might be Brayan Pena
  5. Wish we'd get McCann but snowball's chance in hell of that happening. Other then that, I expect some Polanco/JP type signings. Thats what im really expecting
  6. Two or three of the following: Infante/guerrero, Salty/Mcann, Drew/Amezaga, Chavez/Youkoulis

  8. What will Hill's role be in comparison to now? What will Jennings role be expanded to in comparison to now? Does anyone see any real significance change in personnel approach? Hill becomes Beinfest. Jennings becomes Hill. If there wasn't going to be a change the shakeup probably never would have happened...U forgot ... becomes Jennings. Someone has to take that vacated spot. Stan Meek or Marty Scott becomes Jennings
  9. Then how do you explain Samson or Putin for that matter?
  10. WOW! What an Unique No hitter. Thank you Alvarez and Fernandez for making this season worth something. PS. Espada is a lousy translator he adds and subtracts whatever he sees fit.
  11. We were also offered Justin Verlander and Curtis Granderson after Dontrelle's '05 season [just for Dontrelle]. But, again, hindsight, 20/20. I've said this many times in the past, but there is no reason on earth to turn down that trade proposal at the time it was made (if it indeed was made). Not even close to being a hindsight 20/20 scenario. Thats true. The only reason I can think for not making that trade is because Dontrelle was so popular here, but you want your GM to make the best baseball move.
  12. hindsight is 20/20. Beinfest wanted an elite bat and pitcher. The dodgers wouldnt give up both Kemp and Kershaw, and the Tigers were more than happy to.
  13. Thanks for posting this. I disagree with Mayo though. I feel less confident than he does, mostly because Loria has these obsession with players like Hechavarria and Solano that will end up sinking us. Does anyone remember when Bonifacio was the worst starter in baseball, and we had him for over half a season. We won 87 games that season and he might have been the reason why we couldn't get to 90. Thats probably on Beinfest. I doubt Loria knows other milb systems that well
  14. At least Fleming should have being retained in Jennings current post.
