vazquez is so bad. i thought his yankee season was a fluke and he'd go back to the player he was for the braves but he was just a waste of money. 8 million to vazquez and helms is hard to swallow when he could have used that money to improve other areas on the team Oh boy.......watch out they'll be after you next.
  3. I will say this, I think it's time to part ways with him. I'm not sure how, but we need someone else. Thank you.
  4. He won't go away, but somehow he hasn't managed to answer my question. Who were the safer, better, cheaper free agent pitchers with higher upside? Or even guys who fit a couple of those categories? Then why in the world did we pay him $ 7 million. Give him a contract for $ 3 million and tell him to be happy about it, and then go get someone for 3rd and more bullpen help. If he doesn't sign so what, we get someone else but have our 3rd baseman.
  5. He won't give up. Why do I have to give up ? Its my opinion and I am entitled to it. You believe everyone is expected to fall in line Nazi style with what you think. Dude, its you that need the attitude adjustment. I have not been rude, or insulting, nor have I singled out anyone for ridicule, as others have done to me lately on this board. I believe that the Vazquez signing was not right or smart. Thought that at the time it was done. I haven't changed my mind. Geeeesh......:banghead
  6. 1. He dominated the NL two seasons ago. I shouldn't have said low risk, but it certainly wasn't a high risk. He's signed to one year. Depsite his suck, we're still one of the best teams in baseball. Something you seem to forget a lot. 2. We didn't make the playoffs last season because of the bullpen and pitching. 2 years ago, is just that 2 years ago. He's older and not better. I believe it was a foolish signing. As for one of the better teams in baseball, lets wait until the All Star Break and revisit that. We need Hanley to get off the schnide soon. Last season ? I wasn't talking about last season, but 2 years ago when we won 87. If we had made some trade deadline deals, we could have made the playoffs.
  7. You're smoking dope... Yes of course. So we should just accept and not bitch about it ? That's what makes message boards fun :whistle No. Bitch about how badly Javier sucks and how badly he's letting us down but don't bitch about management who made the right move. Haven't you heard? If a player doesn't pan out, it means the FO is garbage. They are paid a lot of money to be able to ascertain who is good and who isn't. Geeeesh, so the FO is never to blame ? Even if all the signs were there that he was no good ? He had a HORRIBLE season last year.
  8. Hurricane, look at the last draft. the Marlins spent above draft slot money for a bunch of guys. Most notably to me, they spent $700,000 on Jacob Realmuto to keep him away from playing football at Oklahoma State and to make him the catcher of the future. He's going to be a good player. There were a bunch of guys this year in the draft that the Marlins spent a ton of cash on. You just have selective attention. You see only what you want to see. Realmuto....interesting. So then Skipworth was a bad draft pick ? Heyward was the pick there, even if it meant he wouldn't sign, at least it would have made the chances of his ever being a Brave almost zero. He would have gone to college and then the chances Atlanta would have had a chance at him so so so slim. And if he did sign with us.....OMG Heyward AND Stanton in our outfield ?!?!?!? OMFG.
  9. we're not a playoff team if vazquez and volstad are starting 40% of our games. both have been horrible, but volstad probably has a slightly better chance of getting his act together. vazquez...stick a fork in him. the back end of the rotation is holding this team back. I have to agree with you. And the way this FO works, it will be either do nothing or try to do something way to late and we'll once again miss the playoffs. I heard today on MLB network that this upcoming draft is loaded with pitching. Maybe for once Beinfest can draft a pitcher. His results so far only show one winner (Johnson). They drafted a pitcher 2 years ago. and is he helping us this year or not ? How is that Skipworth pick working out ? And Dominguez ? Yeah, because drafting studs who fly through the minors like Strasburg are available every year. Signing Buck for 3 years basically told us what they think of Skipworth.

  11. There really is no explanation needed. We needed a pitcher. He was a low risk option with high reward based on his play two seasons ago while he was in the NL. You are only complaining because it hasn't worked out. There were other options, and cheaper ones. This owner is skeptical about spending any money, and we spend $ 7 million on this guy who all signs said was done. It was not low risk, because now a good chunk of the seasons budget has been spent on this bum. We now don't have the money to spend later this year because of the waste on Vazquez. Loria is not one to open his wallet very wide at the end of a season. Just look at 2 years ago. We missed the playoffs by 6 games because they didn't want to spend (only explaination I can think of) money to get us into the WC.

  13. Relax and dea with it. He will be here until june at the least, in my opinion. Not a bad move, just hasn't turned out how we've wanted it too yet. So we should just accept and not bitch about it ? That's what makes message boards fun :whistle
  14. It was a low-risk contract with a high potential reward that has obviously not come to fruition. I just hope they don't wait too long to cut their losses. $ 7 million is low risk ? Dude there were cheaper options that didn't have the question marks that Vazquez had after his lost year in Yankeeland.
  15. how many more starts does javy get? i'd like to say none but i figure realistically two more bad outings will get him out of the rotation. jay buente is pitching well down in new orleans. they will go with him until at least the end of this month I predict....what is that 3 more starts ?
