US Open 2008
Can't wait to see Querrey/Nadal in a few days. Hopefully that'll be the night match.

US Open 2008
This Querrey/Karlovic match has been insane so far. Aces all over the place. 36 after the first 2 sets. Both went into tiebreaks and Querrey came out on top. Both men with 18 aces.

Gulbis pretty much abandoned that drop shot and is giving the game to Roddick. Gotta give some credit to Roddick though, you don't win 9 out of 11 games without doing something right.

US Open 2008
Holy crap Andy Roddick is right back in this thing!
-
US Open 2008
True. But when I said "LOL Roddick" it wasn't a shot at Gulbis. I did call it the big match earlier today. And did I just see three straight aces from Gulbis? Damn.
-
US Open 2008
Do we have yet another "LOL Roddick" moment on our hands?

8/29 Mets @ Marlins
Um, what the hell is wrong with Nelson's face? With the Olympics and US Open on recently, I haven't been following the Marlins game by game. What happened to him?

US Open 2008
No way, ha ha. Damn, that sucks. Bartoli is owning right now.

What shot by Fernando are you talking about? I missed it.

Ok, I get what you're saying now. There's really no point in arguing further because we've both said what we want to say. I guess we'll just have to wait now. Yup, flipping back and forth between FSN and USA Hey, the D-Rays are on FSN tonight! Traitor! Also, Anna Chakvetadze lost in the first round of mixed doubles. Lol.

US Open 2008
She's playing extremely well right now though. She's gonna face people she should beat and with the way she's playing, I'd be shocked if she lost. In her 3 matches, she hasn't lost a set and only has 10 double faults. That's pretty low for Dementieva because we all know she could easily be around 10-15 in ONE match. She didn't have a single DF today either. I know it's against weak competition but still, I like her chances. Also, I like talking tennis here way more than some other board I go to. People act like know it alls and pretty much only want a woman to advance if she's "cute" or "hot". All I heard today was "Too bad Zheng didn't advance, she's so tiny/cute!". Obviously I like looking at the good looking girls too but that doesn't really affect how/why I watch tennis. I don't root for certain players just because they look good.

Yeah she's pretty much a lock for the semis now. If she doesn't make it there, I'd be shocked.

US Open 2008
Srebotnik completes the upset. Kuznetsova looked like she was gonna run off and kill herself after that match. Tough loss. And if Kendrick keeps this match close like he's been doing, we won't even have to go anywhere when it's done. Night coverage starts at 7 and it's already 6. Go Kendrick!
-
US Open 2008
Fed advances in straight sets. This Kendrick guy is giving Djokovic a great match though. That first set tiebreak was amazing. Kuznetsova damn near lost in the second set against Srebotnik but forced a third. Dementieva won so I'm happy about that. I don't think she'll win the open but I love seeing her play and perform well. A couple of Americans already went down (Reynolds and Ginepri), will Roddick join them later?!

US Open 2008
I mixed up the hours. Thought night coverage started at 8 but it's 7. Usually the match doesn't start until 7:30-8:00 anyway though. But I think the Davenport/Bartoli match will go 3 sets.

US Open 2008
Play starts soon today. Some people think Zheng will upset Jankovic but I don't see it happening. She performed well during Wimbledon but her only big win was against Ana Ivanovic who has played like crap this summer anyway. Jankovic should advance no problem. Same with Federer and Djokovic. Davenport/Bartoli should be fun I guess but the big match is Roddick/Gulbis. Should be a good day. What time is this one? 2nd night match after Davenport/Bartoli. I'm guessing around 9:00 but it could be sooner or later than that.
-
US Open 2008
Damn that took forever. Was awesome though.
-
US Open 2008
Well Zheng is giving Jankovic a run for her money but it's at least nice to see. Still think Jankovic will pull off the win but I wasn't expecting something so close.

It's over. Great game by Coin. Interview after the match was hilarious too. She looks like a fun girl.

US Open 2008
Coin up 5-2. Ivanovic serving to stay alive. To be honest, I'm not surprised she's playing poorly today. I thought she was gone in round 1. My prediction looks stupid as hell right now though.
-
US Open 2008
I know Ivanovic has been injured but if she lost to Coin, this would be a HUGE upset. To be honest, I don't think Ivanovic should be number 1 but there's really no one else that can fill that spot right now. The WS don't play enough tournies, Jankovic hasn't even made a finals appearance, and Dementieva/Kuznetsova aren't good enough. If Safina wins the US Open and continues her hot streak she should be number 1 in no time though.
