Seung-Yeop Lee
As for Redman, I don't think he's going anywhere. You can't get a lefty that can pitch 200+ innings with a 3.75 ERA these days for 3 million. He's a big bargain. One of our starters is likely to get injured, because it always happens to every staff. You will need six starters with one of those guys like Pavano/Redman being long relievers, and you slide them in when one of the other starters is out. It would be foolish to get rid of Redman, especially for his price. There are other ways to cut cost. ( I am working on that too, and it is possible) Oh and Ramp, Cruz throws 97 mph with movement.. lots of movement, but doesn't have what it takes to win. He's scared to death and scared to pitch, especially with the game on the line. He's not erratic though. He just won't make it. Especially as a starter. I think the best thing for Cruz, would be for him to be used like Dotel, since he is basically a duplicate of Dotel. Setup and Closing will be in Cruz's future. The Cubs also wouldn't trade Cruz for Lowell, suupposively. What makes anybody think they will deal him for Lee?

Pro/Con with Cote/Le Batard
This is a ridiculous article. I didn't even read it and I'm not going to waste my time. Anybody that is pro MARLINS, which he is not and thats why he's biased, would not be in favor of trading Pierre. He is one of the biggest bargains with money and is one of the best, if not the best leadoff hitters in the league. You'd think he'd be glad that we didn't have to worry about CF because of all these other money problems on our team. Pierre is a lock. Why would he complain? He's just a troublemaker and is crying for attention.

A few technical questions
I know about 3rd year arbitration eligible.. banks might be in his third.. but I'm not sure. I fount out that you have to be on the 40 man roster in opening day for it to count as an arbitration year. Thats why they didnt put willis on it and waited till may so that it wouldnt count as an arbitration year.. banks was on this opening day but not last opening day with the marlins and never with milwakee i believe. that means hes still arbitration eligible. also, last year was redmans first arbitration year or second? he made 300 K in 2002, but that was when league minimum was 200 K. I think its his 3rd arbitration year? anybody know?

A few technical questions
Hello, I am doing a project on the Marlins and I just wanted to know a few things... I know that in order to be an arbitration year, a player has to be on the 40 man roster for 1 season.. ques. is, is Banks in his 4th or 5th arbitration season? I know that the first 3 years a player can be up and down from minors to majors as much as possible, so he probably wasnt on the 40 man his first 3 years... I'm confused though. I know he wasn't on it in 2000-01 because nobody wanted him then. I think it's his 4th arbitration year.. does anybody know? also, castro is in his 4th season arbitration eligible right? encarnacion is 4th season arbitration eligible too ? do the first 3 years count as arbitration years? its 3 +5 ? rossinfoman, you know this stuff right?
