what amazes me is his plate discipline

he isnt going for that low outside breaking pitch anymore. he got fooled by that pitch a lot last year

honestly, I dont see how pitchers are going to get this kid out. he is a quick learner, he adapts, he has power to all fields, he isnt married to pulling the ball

I'M IN UTTER AMAZEMENT OF THIS KID

for just as much of the intangibles (his discipline and his quick learning curve) as I do for his extraordinary talent.

IMO this year he won't become the superstar people are expecting him to be, just because there are some things he still needs to work on (i.e. strikeing out less, drawing more walks), and he won't rise to the top like Pujols did, but he will be one of the best players in about 5 years.

That's what Im hoping for. As long as he is consistent and doesn't go into any long slumps which I am kind of worried about how he will react when he does eventually go into a mini slump(all players have them) Hopefully he can rebound and continue with his goodplay

believe me, I am one of the most cautious and sort of pessistic people when it comes to touting young players

but this kid is already showing so much improvement over where he was last year

he isnt fishing for that low outside breaking pitch anymore and his strikeout rate is down from last year

its scaring me how good this kid might become
