April 18, 200422 yr Didnt Penny pitch a day game or two in spring and do really well? I am pretty sure he did. Also, get off the fat thing, he isnt fat, he is in the best shape he has ever been in. He had lost 15 lbs before spring training ever started and has lost more since. The guy is just huge, look at his neck, his hands etc. I just got back last week from florida. I was there for the home series, we had easter dinner at Penny's with his parents, grandmother, Pavano, Choi and his sister and a few other people. It was awesome.
April 18, 200422 yr I agree. Penny has looked very good this spring, and during his first two starts. In 2 games he's allowed 3 ERs. He looks to be in great shape. Let's cheer him on today, and get the W!!!!
April 18, 200422 yr I don't know about spring training but since most of our spring games are in the daytime and since Penny had a good spring, I'd imagine he pitched well this spring during the day. In his career he has been mostly terrible during the day: Day: 7-12, 6.01 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, .299 BAA Night: 34-23, 3.63 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .246 BAA Doing better at night isn't that uncommon for power pitchers.
