5/27 (5/28) ---Marlins vs Expos--- Game 1

Featured Replies

His lower back is acting up.

Frank saw that Vlad wasn't hitting the ''rockets'' he usually hits and decided Vlad was not gonna play for a few days so he can rest up. Vlad had no say in it and is gonna get some treatment during this time.

From the Miami Herald:

Guerrero hurting: Montreal right fielder Vladimir Guerrero was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup, and manager Frank Robinson said he might not be able to play today because of soreness in his lower back.

Guerrero did not run hard on Monday's game-ending double-play grounder, which might have contributed to Robinson's decision.

Weather Updates

Because the Marlins are hot, the club pushed to have the rain-out made up today, as part of the club's first home doubleheader since July 20, 2000, even though the Expos come back to South Florida two more times this season.

''When you're winning you want to play,'' said manager Jack McKeon. ``Why back them up? We've got plenty of pitching.''

MIAMI (Ticker) -- One day later than expected, Michael Tejera will try to record his first victory of the season for the Florida Marlins when they play the second game of a doubleheader against the Montreal Expos at Pro Player Stadium.

Tejera (0-3, 6.63 ERA), who will make his sixth start and 17th appearance of the season, was slated to start on Tuesday in the second contest of a four-game series before it was rained out.

The lefthander, who is on a career-high six-game losing streak over his last 25 appearances, including nine starts, was rocked by the Expos in an 8-2 loss on Thursday. He surrendered seven runs and nine hits in four innings.

Tejera is 1-1 with one save and a 5.19 ERA against Montreal in eight career appearances, including two starts.

Montreal righthander Zach Day (4-2, 2.87) will oppose Tejera.

Day lost to Philadelphia on Friday, 4-2, allowing three runs, eight hits and a season-high six walks in five innings. The loss was Day's first since his second outing of the season, April 8 at Chicago.

Day, who leads the National League in road ERA (1.27), has one save and a 4.15 ERA in two relief stints against the Marlins.

When the Expos play in the postseason, they should definitely play their home games in San Juan.

Ramon Castro and Mike Redmond will split the catching duties in today's doubleheader.

This will only be Castro's second start of the season. Pudge Rodriguez is still limited by a sore right foot, but could see action as a pinch-hitter.

so much for Pudge07's theory that the Marlins dont like him eh?

LET'S TAKE TONIGHT!
