You wont need a retainer for years, I got my braces off in December and the orthodontist already told me I can wear them less often.

Juan Pierre had braces as a kid. Jhonny Peralta didn't. :o

Don't be messing with Juanpy

Orthodontists are a scam.? They say everyone needs braces so that they can make a bunch of money.? And who the hell is going to wear a retainer for the REST OF THEIR LIFE.? I regret ever getting braces since my teeth were straight in the first place but I had an overbite.? It did very little for me other than now you can see my bottom teeth a little better when I smile.? WOW!? Its a waste of money unless you have big ass buck teeth.

that sounds so much like me it's not even funny

brother? a lot of people would say the same thing...a lot of people feel the same way about braces... i know

my teeth were perfectly fine to me, and they're all like: you need braces, and then they tell me that they'll be off in a year, and it's been nearly 2 years it happens to a lot of people...I guess they either say that because they dont want you to feel bad that your going to have to have them on for a long time or they really think that your only going to have to wear them for a short amount of time and they need to learn more about being a dentist.... Juan Pierre had braces as a kid. Jhonny Peralta didn't. :o what does that have to do with anything?

I had braces for 3 years. I had standard 18 brackets, but then I moved so I got 22 and they moved in a year. Now I have invisaline for my retainers. I had them off for about a year now. :D

I only have to were my retainer at night, now. I kinda miss my braces though...

Some people wear their retainers all day...and some people only wear them at night...how come some people only wear them at night and some people wear them all day? if you wear them at night than it like you are wearing them a large portion of the day anyways...that what I guess the reason is...

It's like this. When you first get them off, you have to wear them day and night. After six month, then you get to wear them for 12 hours a day, after dinner. They do this so that your teeth will adjust to you not wearing them all of the time and get them to move less while they aren't on.
