Wayne won't let it go

Featured Replies

It appear a couple of people in Tally brought up a way to get the Marlins the money by taken half, if not all the money going to Wayne that was given to him for the Marlins. It was shot down very quickly because of some lobbiest in behalf of... you guess it Wayne. I'm not up there, so I don't know how it went down. I wouldn't doubt that this is the way it took place. I believe right now the team, city and county will go back and move forward with the plan if they had gotten the money. Find a way to close the gap and go back next year.

Are y'all saying that the Marlins went to Talhahassee and asked for the $30 million dollars to be taken from Wayne's $2 million per year and given to the Marlins?

I always thought that the Marlins were asking for an additional $60 million (now $30 million). I thought that was the Legislature's big issue - that it would be double dipping on the Marlins: $60 million to PPS (Wayne) and another $30-60 million to the Marlins Orange Bowl Stadium.

I hate Wayne as much as the next person, but anybody is going to fight for $30 million being taken away from them. I'd have been shocked if he didn't fight to keep it, going to the courts if he had to. I would and I don't consider myself anywhere near as evil as Wayne.

Are we sure we asked to have the money moved from Wayne to the Marlins current owners? Because I don't think that ever had any hopes of flying on the last day of the session.

Again I'm not sure if this was a last ditch effort by the Marlins to get the money by going after the money that was issue to the franchise not the owner at the time. Your right though Wayne would be stupid not to fight for the money that doesn't belong to him anymore by the fact he no longer owns the team :plain
