Armando Benitez

Featured Replies

Armando and Gagne are both going to get their saves because they're both the top closers in the game, so what it all comes down to is which team gets into more save situations. The Marlins have been in more save situations than the Dodgers, and thus Armando has more saves than Gagne. Gange hasn't even had a save opportunity in the past 8 games or so because the Dodgers are on a huge losing streak, about 8 games.

I will have to say that Benitez is better than Gange for the simple fact that Benitez is regularly brought into games in very tough situations and Gagne usually does not enter a game with loaded bases or men in scoring position or something along those lines. If Gagne was put into games in very difficult situations on a regular basis like Benitez is, his streak would be over very quickly.

Gange's save against the Marlins was a very easy one...But I dont think that the Dodgers would leave Gange out of the game if there was a big possibility of his blowing the save.

I think Armando had alot to prove coming into this season and he is definently doing that. I dont know he would have been able to put up these numbers elsewhere, I think that he being able to relax more here in Florida is the reasoning behind his succes.
