Isturiz or AGON?

Featured Replies

Tonight during sunday night baseball on ESPN joe morgan said Cesar Isturiz is the best defensive SS in baseball. i haven't seen him play but this is a tough question considering AGON, Nomar, Tejada, Rodriguez (did), Renteria ,etc. play SS.

ofcourse i think AGON is the best. :notworthy

Taking absolutely no offense into account whatsoever, i'd have to go with Agon as the best followed by Reteria and Omar Vizquel.

How can we say this? Have we really seen dudes like Isturiz and Renteria etc, play on a regular basis? How are we supposed to know about LA's SS or someone we watch 10 times a year, when we see Gonzalez every day?

And that Cal guy

I've got MLB Extra Innings on DirecTV and I take advantage of it and make a habit of watching all sorts of different teams everyday, don't just assume nobody watches other teams. On average I watch about two baseball games every single day, the Marlins and then a game if there's one on afterwards or before hand. It's very easy to follow teams in the west coast because just as the average Marlins game is finishing up on the east coast, because of time zones games on the west coast are just starting to get going.

I have seen Izturiz play a lot ... he is amazing, that is a given ... AGon takes more risks plays and sometimes that makes him the lesser player because of the possibility of errors and such.

but they are about equal as far as defense is concerned

coming out of the minors Itzuriz was the better defensive player

Cool. Who else does? How many people here are basing their opinion on Gold Gloves, and the occasional highlight tape?

defensively, its omar and ozzie, then everybody else
