I need to ask this question, though I'm not sure if this post will get moved...

What ever happened to the two-game series? As recently as 98 or 99 it was semi-common, and I haven't seen one scheduled since, for any team. Why?

And why are there no more SCHEDULED double-headers?

The Marlins have a two-game series against the Braves in July. Im guessing it has to do with travel-teams dont want to travel to some city and only play two games there when they get three or four in. With doubleheaders, it has to do with money. They dont want to give fans two games for the price of one. They could have day-night Doubleheaders, but that makes it difficult for people to go to both games unless they stay at the stadium all day or go home and come back.
