July 2, 200422 yr I just read the Dept of Defense newsletter today, and they had a good article comparing bush to kerry in terms of military spending. Both men agree that spending will go up, Kerry says he wants to reduce spending on missle defense systems and add two new army divisions and more troops. Bush says he wants to up missle defense and military technology. Which do you think is a better idea? (By the way the source was very unbiased and impartial, because I know its a favorite of people on the board to attack credibility of sources, but honestly it was just a you decide comparison between the two, with quotes from both)
July 3, 200422 yr still can't let go of the old star wars nonsense.... remember when they tried testing a missile defense system a couple of years ago & it failed again and again? Tonyi, regarding seaports & shipping, & the "nuke in a cargo container".... not that I disagree about inspecting shipping cargo containers, but if thorough searches of the majority of cargo containers were regularly scheduled, don't you think it would effectively grind the port to a halt?
July 3, 200422 yr it just proves they are both idiots. We don't need a draft or more investment, let's just pull out of Europe and south korea already.
July 4, 200422 yr I'm going on The Kerry stance because it's been debated before on Bush's. I'm certainly happened with The Pet Project missile defense, it's been nothing but a waste. I don't know what would more scarier, being in another nuclear threat or having to believe star wars was our defense. No on increased military overseas. I do like that their reducing our #'s in Korea but not to go to Iraq. Reducing those troops should have been done before this could have happened. I do however wish we would provide more aid to poverty striken countries. Terrorism breeds in the areas that have been given up on. I think you offer a substancial aid to old SU countries that are struggling to make it. After that I think you analyze which countries really need it and do something about it. That's helping to elimate threats before they attack.
July 4, 200422 yr We've been in the process of pulling out of europe for several years now, and ROK force is being reduced to minimalist tripwire force that could be used to validate our intervention. 438689[/snapback] I want everyone the hell out personally. and once we're done building Iraq, I only want to see our men in foreign ports, not occupying entire countries...of course this will never happen.
